Pikes Peak Schoolhouse

We were blessed to stay at this charming home for six nights. It was wonderful! This restored schoolhouse was the perfect get away. The schoolhouse was recently restored to modern standards that surpassed our expectations. The surrounding landscapes and grounds of the home are picturesque, to say the least! The home is private, peaceful, and yet only 3.5 miles from downtown Washington. I absolutely would recommend the Pikes Peak Schoolhouse and I look forward to returning in the near future. Bottom line: the schoolhouse scores an A+.

A perfect weekend getaway spot!

The most adorable home; loved the history of the home too! A great location, close to Washington, but also very private surrounded by trees and beautiful landscape. The house had everything we needed, very comfortable, cozy and spotless. Great communication with the owners. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful & Comfortable

We enjoyed the home. It was comfortable, the bed was amazing, the house was just as described and more. We even found it had heated floors in the bathroom! It was perfect for our mini-Golden Doodle, lots of room for her to run. The owners made sure we had all the information we needed to make our stay comfortable. We ate at the local restaurants and shopped at the local shops. We really enjoyed the weekend!

If you want to explore this part of Missouri, which is chock full of history, charm and plenty of things to see and do -- AND -- you want to do it with your furry, four-legged family member(s) in tow, then this is the location for you. We made day trips to Mark Twain National Forest, Jefferson City and St. Louis, with St. Louis being an especially easy trip. We prioritize easy traffic flow in and out of where we stay alongside accommodations that are not jammed up against other properties. The Pike's Peak School House is perfectly appointed and if you appreciate historical preservation you will find details available to read up on the property. The owners really did a lovely job restoring and modernizing this structure while honoring it's roots. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed!

A historic getaway where peace is found in the middle of wine country!

We loved the quiet serenity of this preserved piece of Franklin County History. The renovations of Pikes Peak Schoolhouse were refreshing and well thought out. Clean would be an understatement. It was pristinely clean and comfortable. Peacefuland munutes away from Washington's fantastic downtown shops, pubs, coffee shops, and resturants. Then there's wine country! Great first retirement getaway.

I truly cannot say enough good things about this place! The pictures do not do it justice! First of all, we booked the place so that we could be closer to Purina Farms for a dog show. The host's were super accommodating for the dogs! And if you are booking a dog friendly hotel, this place was very comparable in price, but way more comfortable than a hotel. I was in love with the shower! It was massive and the water got hot quick. I traveled with my disabled mother and the shower was great for those that are handicapped. The place was beautiful! The sunrise was amazing! And it is not in town but close enough to town just how I like it. For dog show people, it is about 20 minutes to Purina Farms-two different ways you can go-backroads or highway. Absolutely will be staying here again!!!!!
