WELCOME! Are you looking to get away, to disconnect and relax? Look no further.

The Lake House is a quiet, cozy year round home. Either watch the activities on the Lake or take out the row boat to fish or the paddle boat to have a bit of fun and exercise. Lake House is a newly remodeled 2-bedroom house, with a combined bathroom/laundry room. The sitting room allows you a space to relax. Check out the shelves, you will find some games, or you might want to check out a book. The cozy sunroom has a great view of Buffalo Lake, and a great place to have your morning coffee. The Lake House is fully furnished. The kitchen is equipped with everything you may need to cook or bake a sweet treat. You can relax on the patio, or move closer to the lake, sit on the bench and enjoy the sights and sounds. If luck, has it, you may see the eagle that nests further down the lake. Take a short walk to downtown, visit the shops, or take your picture at the waterfalls, if you prefer to stay close to the Lake House, you can roam the property, hopefully there will be flowers blooming. Check out the metal flowers, the bowling balls and even some cement leaves.... a few things I do to keep myself busy.

The Lake House is not only for a summer get away, but there are many activities to do in the winter months. You can ice fish and snowmobile. Cascade Mountain is a 30 minute drive, a family-friendly resort where you can ski, snowboard, snow tubing with kid programs. Check it out, follow the link.

Relaxing stay

Very clean and comfortable- loved the backyard and looking out on the lake. Couldn’t get the canoe or paddle boat out due to all the cattails but loved sitting on the dock.

There is much to explore in Marquette County. There are Wineries, Spas,Golf, Hiking, Geocaching, Biking and Bird Watching just to name a few. Back at the Lake House you can sit by the Lake or on the patio and relax with a refreshing drink.

There is many things to see and do in Montello. Did you know that there is only one stop light in all of Marquette County…that’s in Montello. The granite from the quarry was used for Grant’s tomb. Come and enjoy! Mary

The Montello Lake House is just as described. It’s lovely—roomy, clean, carefully maintained. We stayed there twice and intend to stay again the nice time we’re in the area.

If you are wondering about the small building on the property. It is made out of 8 doors. When remodeling the house, I saved the doors, with the hope that I could come up with an idea to use them. I have a potting bench in the shed and is works well to store the things for the rowboat. The eagle was carved by a friend of mine. He proudly sits on the stoop and is watching over the area.

Why they chose this property

No one had lived in the house for 35+ years. I bought the property for a place for my sister to live and I could help her. She was sicker than both of us realized, and she died before the remodeling was completed. I put my heart and soul into the house. Because of that, it took me some time to list the house as a vacation rental. I wasn’t sure if I wanted other people to use the house. I’m glad I did. I get a chance to meet some of the wonderful people that rent the Lake House and everything has worked out great.

What makes this property unique

In 2018-2019, the Lake House took on a complete transformation. I enjoyed when the neighbors walked by and commented on how nice the house was becoming. There was great changes made to the outside and the landscaping. Inside was an even bigger change. I was able to work on the layout, taking walls out, opening up the rooms making things flow nicely, yet keeping it cozy and inviting. I enjoyed picking out colors, and the decorations. Some of the neighbors that walked by even made it inside. It was a work in progress that I poured my heart and soul into and turned out to be my pride and joy.

I live next door, to the west. If there are any issues or things, you might need...I’m right here to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
