Fee Schedule: 50% of overall rental fee due at booking and the remaining 50% is due one month prior to your stay. $150 cleaning fee & $1,000 security deposit with each stay.

*Other than the Sandy island near the dam, Buffalo Lake is more of a fishing lake than a swimming lake. It can get quite weedy in the summer.

Our home does have some outdoor cameras for security purposes, but none indoor.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Great family get away

This was a great location for our family to be able to get together. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the lake! The large table gave us room to eat together and to play game after a game. We had nice spaces and prepping food. The host was very helpful and responsive.

Family stayed for the weekend, found the house to be a cute, well maintained and cozy place to relax. Lake was not usable for swimming, but had fun fishing.

Very nice getaway

Wanted to spend a relaxing weekend in winter scenery with family and friends. “Under the Oaks” was a perfect choice. Cottage was spacious and charming. Nice lake views, cozy family room with vaulted ceilings was perfect spot for morning coffee. Seamless communication with owner.Definitely recommending that place for anyone

Great cabin in the woods, super cozy

Our group had a wonderful stay. We were going to explore the Dells and also wanted a place that we could hang out together and relax. The cabin is wonderful and we had so much fun. Kayaking was fun in the lake and just relaxing at the house was just what we needed. Having the house all ready to go and we could just get settled was just great. Everything we could need was there and it made our trip super easy. Highly recommend the cabin and the hosts were wonderful. Thanks for the great stay.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

Our family had a great stay at this home over the Memorial Day weekend! We comfortably fit 3 adults and 6 kids. There's a great little town 5 minutes away with excellent food and everyone was so friendly - we really enjoyed the local boutique shopping. The kids had a great time fishing off the pier; catching one fish after another where we could barely keep up! The hosts had perfect communication with us before and during our stay. The home was clean and cozy. Thank you for hosting us! The kids already want to come back!

Beautiful Home Away From Home!

What a beautiful home! This house was such a perfect fit for our family of 6! It was so nice going and being able to relax, getting away from busy day life. We so enjoyed playing fun new games (darts was a big hit with our kids!), trying new restaurants (Sparks Grill for breakfast was great), snuggling under all the cozy blankets while watching tv/movies as a family and taking in the views of the lake. The sunrise on our last morning was just beautiful! The weather was still cold when we went, but sure would be a fun place to check out in the warmer months, to enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the deck, backyard and fun times in the lake!

Great spot for a bachelor gathering

I booked this awesome location for my bachelor getaway weekend with 7 friends. It was a perfect spot for kayaking, yard games, and sitting around the campfire. Really close to the "downtown" area of Montello for supplies, restaurants, and bars as well. The house itself is a really cool place. Great seating, dining and bed situation. The only issue was missing some key supplies. Only had 1 bag each for trash and recycling (which filled quickly with 8 people) No paper towels and no multi surface spray to clean counters and tables (there were Lysol wipes though)

We’re surprised about this review! We checked in with them throughout their stay to see if they needed anything, and they did not. It wasn’t until after their checkout that they said they couldn’t find the garbage bags or paper towels, which we in fact in our utility room.

We had an excellent time at "Under the Oaks". The layout of the home was perfect for our family. The dining table was awesome considering we had 10 people sitting around it at most meals. Well stocked kitchen and quiet sleeping. The living room (sunroom) is a great space from the time the sun comes up until you are ready to go to bed. The doors on the space allowed us to stay up late in the area while the kids slept.We hung out in the front yard a ton. It was 85 every day while we were there. We happened to have a slip n' slide for the kids that became the mini pool for the adults. Definitely recommend some form of water during the heart of the summer. We fished for pan fish all weekend too. We caught fish on every other cast. Unfortunately, no swimming with the amount of seaweed and lily pads. Again, happy we had an alternative water source.

Great Time Under the Oaks

We had the best time at this property for a birthday get together with friends! The house is super cute with comfortable beds, large front yard, deck, fire pit, grill and kayaks, all as described. We comfortably fit our group of 13 people each night. The hosts were really communicative leading up to and during our stay when we had any questions. When booked months prior, we did think we would be able to swim in the lake, however it is only usable if you rent boat. Despite what another review noted, we did not have any major issues with bugs. We packed eye masks for those sleeping in the game room and living room. The Lodge at Buffalo Lake is just a few houses down and great for food or drinks. Thank you, Dan and Meg!

You'll appreciate having the convenience of a bar & grill just a short walk from the home (300 yards), and historic downtown Montello just a short 4-minute drive down the road with shopping, dining, groceries, galleries, bait & tackle, waterfalls & the famous old-fashioned Montello Candy Store.

The Montello area is known for its ideal location with proximity to the Wisconsin Dells, Madison & Milwaukee, and the plethora of outdoor sports & activities residents & visitors enjoy including fishing, boating, cross-country skiing, ATV Trails, snowmobiling, biking, ice-fishing, & bird watching (we often see bald eagles flying above the cabin).
