About this property

A Swiss chalet styled cabin in the woods with rustic charm. A peaceful getaway.

The Blaeberry Chalet is a small and rustic log cabin tucked in the mountainous, rural and peaceful Blaeberry Valley. It's 20 minutes from Golden, west on highway 1, where time stands still and wildlife is abundant. It's an authentic Swiss Chalet style, hand built by the previous owner, and there's a neighboring smaller "Blaeberry Cabin" on 11 acres of forest and meadow, each have separate green spaces surrounding (no mowed 'yard'), see aerial imagery for a good idea of the setting and proximity. You are surrounded by mountains, with a view of the Purcells in the front and the Rockies in the back with the Blaeberry River across the road. White tailed deer often graze next to the chalet, so can be viewed out the windows in the mornings and evenings. The kitchen features a modern convection oven perfect for baking, with a glass top stove. The second bedroom is up a ladder in the attic, with a very short ceiling, a perfect hideout for kids! Please note that the ceilings are six and half feet tall or less, so it's a great hobbit house, not well suited to vertically empowered folks ;)

Load and start the dishwasher

Strip any used beds

Remove personal items

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys

Be sure to hang any wet towels so they dry if I don't get there to clean right away.

Please take your garbage with you, if possible. Otherwise, leave it contained inside the bin, indoors. Do not leave garbage outside, because it's a wildlife attractant.

Make sure that you turn the thermostat to "eco-mode" (this setting is nearly off, with only enough heat to prevent pipes from freezing). Close ALL of the doors (interior & exterior) and windows.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Absolutely NO OUTDOOR FIRES! No exceptions. I will be notified if you do not comply. Angry and worried neighbours will reprimand us. Be respectful.

Dispose of dog poop and keep pets with you at all times. There are predators that could harm them, and neighbours who do not allow unwelcome visitors.

If you use the outdoor tap, ensure that it is not dripping when you are done. There is an object tied to it as a spacer to keep it in the 'sweet spot'
