About this property

Brighton Belle — Mid-Century 2BR Home, Split Bath, Walk to Station & Main St

Summary:

Brighton Belle brings a bright and funky mid-century modern aesthetic to central Stawell, sleeping four across two equal queen beds with a smart split-bathroom layout. Named after a famous English train, it sits one street back from the railway line — where the occasional gentle click-clack of a passing train adds a romantic, unhurried backdrop to your stay.

Features signature Orla Kiely wallpaper, a sunken sunroom, a full kitchen with Nespresso coffee, fast NBN Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace, and a two-car driveway. Walk to Main Street cafés, pubs, and Stawell Station, or drive 20 minutes to Grampians National Park.

Please note before booking: features a step down into the sunroom and a step up to the separate toilet (not wheelchair accessible). Best suited to adults or older children. Not pet-friendly. Minimum 2-night stay.

The Space:

A Bright and Funky Mid-Century Modern Base

Brighton Belle brings bold, mid-century modern character to central Stawell. The home's design centers around one iconic move: Orla Kiely's "Stems" wallpaper in the main lounge, drawing you straight into a sunken sunroom where morning light hits the terracotta floor right on cue for your first cup of coffee.

The house takes its name from a classic English Pullman train — a nod to the owners' honeymoon, but also a quiet tribute to its location one street back from Stawell's railway line. Sitting on a quiet residential street, the occasional soft click-clack of a passing train provides a nostalgic, unhurried backdrop to your stay.

The Interior & Layout

The home is arranged for effortless group living. Sleeping up to four adults, both bedrooms feature full queen beds so no one compromises on space. The bathroom layout is split for added ease: a main bathroom offering a soaking tub, overhead shower, and vanity is paired with a separate toilet with a second vanity, preventing morning bottlenecks.

A full kitchen equipped with an oven, cooktop, microwave, and Nespresso-compatible coffee machine makes self-catering easy, while a dedicated desk with fast NBN Wi-Fi caters to remote work. Outside, two driveway parking spaces make co-ordinating travel seamless.

The Location & Ideal Stay

Whether you are visiting the region for a Great Western wine weekend, attending a local wedding, or planning a mountain hiking trip, Brighton Belle offers the best of both worlds. Enjoy the convenience of walking to town pubs, cafés, or the V/Line train station at night, while remaining just a 20-minute drive from the trailheads of Grampians National Park.

Booking & Layout Notes

Layout & Steps: There is a single step down into the sunroom and a step up into the separate toilet. Combined with the bath-over-shower setup, the house is not accessible for wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

Suitability: Due to the glass coffee table and internal steps, the home is best suited to adult groups, solo travelers, or families traveling with older children.

Pet Policy & Minimum Stay: Pets are not permitted (registered assistance animals are always welcomed). Minimum stay is 2 nights. Off-street parking for 2 cars.

Guest Access:

Self check-in is simple and flexible from 3:00pm via a secure keybox at the front door. Check-out is by 10:00am. Driveway parking for two cars is available right outside the door.

The Neighborhood:

Brighton Belle sits on a quiet residential street in central Stawell. You can leave the car in the driveway and walk to the train station, the Gift Hotel, the historic National Hotel, and local Main St cafés. Stawell serves as the ultimate practical base camp for the region: full-service supermarkets, pharmacies, and fuel are all around the corner, while the hiking trails of Grampians National Park are an easy 20 to 30-minute drive away. The historic cellar doors of Great Western sit just 10 minutes down the highway.

Getting Around:

Central Stawell is completely walkable from your front door. For exploring the lookouts and waterfalls of Grampians National Park or touring the Great Western wine region, a car is recommended. Stawell Station provides direct V/Line train and coach services connecting to Ararat, Ballarat, and Melbourne. Local taxi services are available if required.

Other Things to Note:

Layout & Accessibility: Features a step down into the sunroom and a step up into the separate toilet. Given these steps and the shower-over-bath arrangement, the house is not accessible for wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
