This was our second time staying here. Its a beautiful property and my family really enjoys it. The home was clean with plenty of space for everyone. Im sure we will be back again soon.
Very nice house in a beautiful location on the lake. Communication with owner was excellent. My only concern was the stairs being very steep. The master bedroom and bathroom on the main level was a life saver for our older family member. We had a wonderful time!!
This is our second time staying here and we love it! Plenty of rooms/beds for our group. The teens love the game room and we all enjoy the large porch. My husband grilled every day at the new outdoor kitchen area.
Overall, the experience was pleasant. Beautiful views, plenty of seating, and all the amenities that one would expect from a lake house. However, the Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable which made very difficult to watch a movie with the family.
This place was really wonderful, with great views, and very clean! We had a fantastic time relaxing and preparing for our wedding with our wedding party.
We had a short stay but look forward to renting this property again. The home was very clean and communication was great. We didnt have any issues during our stay!
We had plenty of room, fun lake time & grilled dinners on the porch! The game room was fun, and the dock was great. Super friendly neighbor helped us with fishing tips, and Tara was prompt in answering any questions. We would love to visit again!
We were in the area for a few days and wanted to stay somewhere serene and peaceful. This was the place. Two couples, staying in the cabins which were terrific. In fact the photos are good but don't do them justice - really sweet and roomy cabins with everything you need, easily accessible, in a wonderful lakefront spot. Highly recommended. Tara was amazing and you'll be happy you stayed there.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time. Beautifully decorated and spotless home. Hostess very quick to reply and generously left a nice fall cake to welcome us. Spent Thanksgiving with our family, it was chilly, but are discussing a return trip in the spring/summer months to have more outdoor time on the patio. Thank you for sharing your home.
Great house, great location! We loved hanging out on the dock & being able to use our boat. The game room was a bonus for entertainment. We did expect there to be doors separating the bedrooms, but it was more or less beds in a side hall off two bedrooms. It still worked for us, but we thought there would be a little more privacy there. We would definitely stay here again in the future!
The property was just as listed and even better. It met our family of 5 needs, spacious, stocked with the essentials and a amazing lake view. We came from Texas for our niece's wedding and the home was perfect for a few family members to stop by and visit. We immediately fell in love with the house, it reminded us of another vacation home we stayed at in Arkansas years back. Tara was very responsive to any questions and just kind all around. We wished we had the whole week! Our downstairs bed was so comfortable.Thank you!
My husband and I spent 3 nights at The Dyers Smith Lake Cabin. We booked it as a long weekend get-away trip for my birthday, and we couldn't have been more pleased! Tara was very easy to communicate with during the booking process, and we absolutely loved the cabin. It is very tastefully decorated and has everything you need to make yourself right at home. The cabin is very spacious with plenty of beds to sleep a lot of people, so we plan to make many trips back with some of our family and friends since we loved it so much. I think the porch was my favorite part, and that is where we spent most of our time listening to music, reading books, and just looking at the beautiful lake view. If you want a beautiful cabin at a great price where you can unplug and get some R&R like we did, you should definitely book with The Dyers! You won't regret it. Thanks again, Tara! We will definitely be back to stay again.
The covered level outdoor space was lovely to enjoy the view of the water. We brought my 93 year old mother-in-law and it was so nice to have everything on the same level for her. The game room being separate from the house was nice too, but does need some TLC. We thoroughly enjoyed the ping pong table, but we did go out and get our own paddles and balls because there were only two paddles and one ball and we wanted to play doubles. The foozball table didn't have a ball and I don't remember what the kids said about the darts, but they bought their own for that too. The dart board did look like it had seen better days though. The fireplace in the living room was cozy and actually could produce heat too which was nice because it was still chilly when we were there. All the beds were fine except for one in the back bedroom. They said they sunk towards the middle. My overall suggestion would be white linens and new pillows. The stovetop has a small hairline crack and I think it may be affecting the consistent function of the burners. It was like it was difficult to control the temperature. All in all though, we had a lovely stay. Thank you!

Rough start but ended well.
Check in started out rough! The home is located on a very narrow dead end road and the pictures of the parking area are deceiving. We have a 26ft pontoon boat and pull it with a 4 door Dodge 1 ton. My husband was able to pull the boat up in the driveway, but we would have been out of luck getting it out, if it had not been for our son meeting us in his small SUV. Our son was able to hook his SUV to the boat trailer and get it out of the driveway the next day. After arriving, and discovering the parking situation, I went inside, only to find the home was filthy and had not been cleaned from the previous renters. Fortunately, the owner had extra clean sheets for each bed in the house. The owner was very quick to respond and did refund us $300 for the inconvenience. She was very apologetic and told me this has only happened one other time and this time, the cleaning lady had the cleaning schedule mixed up. The house itself is very accommodating for a large group of people. I would suggest future renters bring disposable cups, as there are not many drinking glasses. I also brought zip lock bags and storage containers, which came in handy. The boat dock was perfect for parking the boat and jet skis. My family caught fish from the dock and overall, we enjoyed our stay.
We were headed to Perdido for a quick end of summer trip and two hurricanes thwarted our efforts. We had to make a quick decision to cancel that trip and book something else and I honestly think it was a much better vacation then we would’ve had at the beach. The kids certainly thought so. We had to quickly reroute our plans and the owners of the lake house were more than accommodating. We weren’t sure when we were going to be able to come in and she worked through all of our changes and regrouping challenges with ease. We had a challenge with the washing machine and from the time I called her to the time it was fixed was 32 minutes. I honestly don’t even know how they got out there that quickly but they had it handled and we were back in business in no time. The home was clean and was exactly as described. It was very comfortable and a great Lakehouse experience. We were not looking for anything that was too fancy and Or having to worry about kids messing anything up. It was the perfect combination of nice and homey. There were plenty of towels and cleaning supplies available and she had plenty of paper products to use instead of washing dishes for every meal. We really didn’t need anything other than food, bathing suits and our clothes. I would highly recommend this home if you want a relaxing and low key vacation. We will be back!!
We enjoyed our time at the lake house. Nice and relaxing. The nearby hiking trail was a highlight of our trip to Cullman. Thanks for providing a safe and cozy place for out family vacation.

We were disappointed in the following: 1) The grills were filthy, and no amount of cleaning would have made them usable. We had to go to Walmart and purchase one to grill on.2) The toaster was broken3) The kitchen sink faucet was damaged4) The game room smell was musty and not usable5) I had asked the owner if toilet paper was supplied for the entire group of people for the duration of the stay and was told they supply all for duration. This was not the case. 6) There were damp clothes in the dryer. We didn't discover this until the last day at time of check out. 7) The owner supplied detailed instruction about careful use of kitchen table and counters, etc. When in fact there were scratches and knicks in the table. We did not do any of that damage.
The home was beautiful with its view over looking the lake. The house was clean and comfortable with lots of room. Getting back and forth from town was easy and we enjoyed going to Octoberfest! The water level in the lake was too low for a swim but we enjoyed just sitting on the doc watching the birds.

About the host
Hosted by Tara and Brandon King
We live just north of Smith Lake. We raise American Quarter Horses and have a love for the South African Boerboel. My husband enjoys off roading and I am an avid equestrian. We have three children and attend a Southern Baptist Church in Cullman, AL. God and Family are very important to us.
Why they chose this property
After viewing several lake properties. We immediately found this property to have a peaceful and right at home feeling. The shaded lot and large front patio creates a cooler atmosphere to relax and entertain. The quiet dead end road makes you feel far away from the shuffles of town, yet you are only 16 minutes from Walmart and all the nearby shopping and restaurants. We also liked that the water gets deeper gradually and that the kids can enjoy the sandbanks, collecting shells and catching small fish. Great fishing from the dock. The home is comfortable with plenty of room for large family gatherings and reunions. The home has been decorated in fun and uplifting colors to create a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
What makes this property unique
1.5 acres. 400ft waterfront. Bamboo forest. Closest rental home to town on Smith Lake. Dead end road. Not on a cliff. Completely shaded lot. 2 bedrooms have attached bedrooms perfect for families with kids.
