This home was in a very nice neighborhood, with friendly neighbors. Manager and owner were very communicative and everything went smoothly. It was a great stay for us.
My husband and I stayed for a week and were very comfortable in this 'tiny house'. We were able to cook meals and maneuver with ease. Sitting out watching the water was so peacful and definitely our highlight!
This tiny house was great! Perfect size for just me for the weekend. Fully stocked with all the necessities! Tucked in a dead end neighborhood. I would stay here again!!
The River retreat was quaint and had everything one might need. There are other potential tenants in the house in front, but they were respectful and nice. Unfortunately I was there when the remnants of a tornado went through, so it was rainy and I didn't get to enjoy the outdoor area much, but I can see how it would be lovely in good weather! All in all, it was a very plesant stay.
Nice accomadation for the size. Having a kitchen & washer/dryer nice features. View & deck outstanding. Good to have parking on site. Livingroom very comfortable.
Hampton River Retreat exceeded our expectations! The home was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The river view was absolutely breathtaking—perfect for morning coffee or evening wind-downs. We loved how peaceful and private the property felt, yet it was still conveniently located. The hosts were kind, responsive, and made sure we had a smooth experience from start to finish. This was the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and make great memories. We’d return in a heartbeat!
This tiny house is awesome. It looks evn better than the online pics. Beautiful area and layout. I will be staying again if I am in town for an extended period. The hosts are attentive and very friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate and show hospitality.
We were looking for something close the convention center. The tiny house was conveniently located and had a beautiful water view. Everything was perfect, wish there had been caffeinated coffee, but that was only a small inconvenience.
Perfectly tiny-sized accommodations in a super convenient location for our busy weekend. Minutes from our event venue and close to the shore! I wish we had more time to enjoy the deck. We didn't anticipate the tiny-sized warm water situation for showers...so that does take some thought with more than one adult.
Nice little house, located perfectly for what we were doing…running the crawling crab 5k Saturday & 1/2 marathon on Sunday. Very close to the Colosseum where they started. Bull Island Brewing had great beer & the best crab pretzels and only a mile away. We also went to Ocean Vier pier for lunch Sunday only 15 minutes away, and hit VA beach on Saturday afternoon for a few hours. Had a great weekend.
Ali and Stephanie were good hosts. They sent me the information way in advance about the property as well. It was a very quiet area and quaint as well. I liked that it is kind of central in between Newport News and Norfolk so plenty to do. The outdoor patio was nice even though it was a bit too chilly for us to hang out there. The water view was nice as well. Def would stay here again!
Nice place, too small. Shower entirely to small. Would not recommend for anybody over 200lbs. Other than that, we had a good time.

Not as quiet and private as we thought
Our stay was interrupted twice by the landscaper who cut the grass during evening hours at 7 pm while we tried to sit outside. I thought that was disrespectful and not quiet at all. Also, the outside cushions were invested by ants so we were not able to use them. Otherwise the tiny house was as advertised but I would not come back for a quiet weekend.
Would stay again. Although we were surprised to see someone in the yard playing fetch with a beautiful German Sheppard while our shades were wide open. Thank God we were dressed.
This is a very nice little house with everything we needed. Ali was always available when we needed him. The outdoor space is large, comfortable and scenic. I would definitely stay here again.
The house was exactly like the photos and we had a great stay! Even though it was small, it had everything we needed to function. We loved the deck outside!
The stay at this property was the second time for me and my husband. The host is awesome because I made a slight suggestion for a more accommodating stay for me and it was considered and done. The outdoor living area is the best feature. Last but not least the location is within a short distance to anywhere.
Great house to stay at while in Hampton! House was comfortable for my family, enough space for 2 adults and 2 young teens. Location was central to many things we wanted to experience, the beaches, historic sights and more. Easy in and out to highways and shopping. The house also has a fantastic outside space, although it did get very warm during the day in August. The River setting was beautiful to wake up to every morning! Thank you for sharing your home with our family!
We enjoyed staying here! It was nice and cozy for us. The view from the dock out back was beautiful. Sadly, the patio furniture was wet and slightly moldy, so we weren’t able to use it much. Also, we didn’t realize the house was in someone’s backyard. We never saw the people who were in the other house, but it was still a surprise to see we didn’t have the privacy we thought we did. We still very much enjoyed the stay, and the location to other places was great!
We really enjoyed our stay, I wish it could have been longer! The tiny house was equipped with everything you could think of and was really quiet for being relatively close to a main road. The porch overlooking the water was great for relaxing.

Ali & Stephanie are Hampton residents and business owners—together they own and operate Holistic Family Solutions, a counseling practice with a whole-person approach to wellness. They turned an unused shed on their waterfront property into our tiny house through their own sweat and that of their friends and family, and they’re excited to share it with you. Why they chose this property
chose this neighborhood because it perfectly captures the charm of Hampton’s waterfront living — peaceful, safe, and conveniently close to everything. The area sits right along the Hampton River, where you can take a morning walk and watch the sunrise shimmer off the water or enjoy a short drive to downtown Hampton’s restaurants, breweries, and live music.
It’s a quiet, established community where neighbors wave hello, yet you’re minutes away from Buckroe Beach, the Hampton Coliseum, and local marinas. I enjoy how it blends a relaxing coastal atmosphere with the convenience of being near all the essentials — perfect for professionals, travelers, and families alike.

It was designed for extended stays, with a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a cozy living area that opens to a spacious patio and outdoor bar setup.
Guests love that it feels like a hidden retreat — quiet and serene, yet close to hospitals, military bases, and downtown attractions.
