Baseball families

We booked this property with two other baseball families for our week at CASV. It is close to the fields we each had our own apartment and still had space to hang out and car pool back and forth to the fields.

Our son played at ASV, we had to go back and forth a few times a day sometimes. This location is very convenient to the fields, restaurants, shopping and groceries.

Overall the place worked for what we needed. There was hair stuck to the walls in the bathroom and the bathroom faucet had toothpaste splatter on it. Sponge at the kitchen sink was dirty and the sheets on one of the beds was stained, so we had to launder the sheets before sleeping in them. Place had not been dusted in some time and there were crumbs on the kitchen table. No one was there when we arrived but all the doors were unlocked and the key was on the table. Would have been nice to have those instructions ahead of time. Overall it worked but just a different experience.

Pros: communication with host was top notice. Response to issues was quick. Air conditioning was EXCELLENT. Washer and dryer within building was excellent and laundry soap and dryer sheets are provided. Laundry location was out the door, into a hall. So easy to monitor washing and drying completion. Two bedroom one bath (apartment 1) is on main floor. Amenities were as listed. Landscaping was as shown in photos. For the cost and the amount of time we actually spent there it was a good value. Close to Cooperstown All star Village and close to Oneonta downtown. You just need to overlook the old building aspect, uneven sloping floors, cheap miniblinds, layers of paint poorly applied and peeling. You can tell it was a beauty in its youth, but layers of paint, repairs, etc, it now shows its age. Cons: building is old, maintenance shows — layers of paint and stain, not applied well. Most furniture in living room needs replacement, lumpy and uncomfortable. Bed room nearest the bathroom had ants the last day after a very hard rain. Bed was so uncomfortable, it squeaks at every movement, literally the bed shakes as you move around. Bathroom toilet had plumbing issues with clogs and required a lot of plunging. Bathroom is a shower bathtub combo and the floor is a bit stained, maybe from minerals? Bathroom towels are old and stiff, appears no actual laundry softener is used. Steps into the unit (porch) are a tad high for older folks but railings provided.

Oneonta trip

This was a great home! Clean, comfortable and plenty of amenities. It's convenient to town and served as a base camp as we moved our daughter into her apartment and stayed in the area a few days.
