Information prior to arrival was great. The apartment was welcoming, clean and very well maintained. 10 minute walk to PPG Paints Arena. Many restaurants within short walking distance. I highly recommend The Commoner for breakfast. We had a great stay and would stay again.

Lovely Abode

A clean, sleek, well situated property with all the amenities that we seek: kitchen/coffee station/ tv with internet/wifi. The beds are very comfortable. Two bathrooms with a washer & dryer are a plus. Beautiful building!

Really close to everything

We were going to an event in the conventucenter and it was really a good location. I will try to stay in a different side next time, just to be far from road, but it wasn’t that bad. It is close to downtown and good restaurants, really recommend.

Great city location

Very clean and comfortable. Cool industrial decor, modern working appliances, and really comfortable beds. Communication with owner was quick even over the holiday week. We will use this property again because of central location to the city.

Check in instructions were very last minute. Parking info was not available. The locks on the door were hard to control, sometimes working right away and other times waiting for the lock to work. Instructions were scarce for working the door locks. The windows were so dirty you could hardly see thru them. A door hinge to one of the bathrooms was loose and caused the door to hang improperly. The refrigerator door handle was missing. There was only one key and was suppose to be two. Any instructions for the apartment were only found on line, not written out and left on the counter like other places we've stayed thru VRBO. I would not recommend Abode to anyone, and will be very careful not to get a second party to VRBO in the future. Very disappointed.

First time in Pittsburgh

The building was historical, the front desk staff was super helpful and friendly, I had great communication with the host, he was very responsive. The place was nice, there was a couple of planks in the flooring in the hallway that could have been considered a trip Hazard but that is minor. Awesome location, the city of Pittsburgh did not disappoint.

Great location, but VRBO should avoid Abode

The unit was the worst unit in the building and Abode was incredibly difficult to deal with. However, the VRBO representative was amazing. We complained about our difficulties with Abode and he stayed on the line and helped us through the difficulties, even offering to let us move.

very cold weather,super warm people

It snowed the whole time we were there but we were warm and cozy in the two bedroom apt. Larry, the doorman, was extremely nice and we felt right at home thanks to his wonderful personality. We will definetly try to get a room there again on our next visit to Pittsburgh. The downside... I gained about 3lbs on our visit due to the amazing variety of great restaurants. I almost forgot to mention that the price was incredible. We'll be back!

The Pennsylvanian is fair place to stay.

Finding a place in the middle of Pittsburgh that has 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and a kitchen isn’t easy. Plus we wanted to be close to the convention center. So the Pennsylvanian fit that need. It was a very quiet building with old charm for its history as a train station. The rooms themselves were basic and had clean linens and plenty of dishes and utensils in the kitchen. We did have one issue with bugs that was quickly addressed by Jack from housekeeping after a call to Abode.

Pennsylvania Railroad Vacation Stay

Larry at the front desk was very helpful with check in. Getting to the right parking place was a challenge but after finally getting to the right place it was good. Overall, it was great.The architecture of the ballroom and outside area was beautiful. Windows of the apartments need to be cleaned. It was the only thing that made the place seem not clean. Great AC and washer and dryer. Great stocked kitchen. Good location. Would probably stay there again!

Would book again

This property was as advertised and well worth the price. Instead of 4 twin beds, we were pleased to find 2 queens! Lots of room in the living room for playing Oculus!! Renovations in unit in process: lamps missing from walls above bed, floor was in need of repair, hole in wall where coat peg should be. But shower was hot with good pressure, beds were comfy, bedrooms and unit were quiet, full size fridge, and location was perfect! The building was historic and amazing. We were pleased and would stay again in the future.

Property was good overall, drop off and pickup to the main area was a bit difficult due to signage and ride shares not understanding the "BUSES ONLY" signs. Fobbing was broken on our first day, and communication of guests staying along with credit card photos seemed excessive, as nothing seemed to ever be checked. Codes were not given until the day of check-in, as well, which was stressful.

A little rough

While overall I was happy with my stay, the unit was a little rough. There was a section of the floor that was missing, there were holes in the wall that had been patched but not painted, and there were closet doors that had been broken and not repaired. All in all the place is pretty rough. Location is great though.

Beautiful historic hotel. They will escalate your requests, and give you half back if it’s below 0

Interesting stay. Provided with space heaters, and given half back for our stay. Beautiful place. But in the dead of winter don’t expect a refund for a not so great experience. Hotel was great, Abode not so much. Assuming it is corporate as even though we had no heat for 3 days, the best they could do was half off. So don’t blame the hotel, blame the corporation in California. Won’t be returning. Be careful people, there are plenty of small companies that have your back .

Dates but comfortable

The pictures are of a brand new unit. The unit is very well worn. We noticed a lot of holes in the walls lots of damage and lots of wear and tear. It served our purpose. Location is good, we walked everywhere. We were able to walk to the Steelers game. The front desk person when we got there was very nice and super helpful. The directions sent were a little rough to follow. Loved the secure building. We would consider staying again but would hope they would put a little love into the unit

Nice place

This was a nice place to stay. We only used one of the bedrooms. The second bedroom was used as a closet with our things. There is plenty of closet space but there were no drawers for smaller things. Not all of the outlets in the bedroom worked which we didn’t realize until we were just about to sleep. Luckily there was an extension cord to plug our sound machine and cpap machine. The unit was fine overall. it was a comfy and clean place to stay. I would recommend nicer smelling sheets. There was an odor to the ones we slept on. Other than that it was a nice area to stay in Pittsburgh for a few days.
