Location, location, location and don't forget the best pool on the Outer Banks
When booking on a site like Home and Away there is, in my mind, always a sense of nervousness. Can you really believe the reviews, are the photos a true reflection of the property and will the owner deliver a first class holiday. Bruce, 'Sea the Green', the Currituck Club and Coroll surely did.
For our 2016 family holiday we selected the Outer Banks based upon recommendations from US based worked coworkers, being British, based in the UK and never having travelled to the Outer Banks before we really didn't know what to except of the location. We went with the suggestion and set about finding a property to rent. The family settled on Sea the Green, primarily due to the the 75 foot lap pool, which really is as good as it looks in the pictures. The whole family spent a lot of time in or around the pool.
From a booking perspective, Bruce prides himself on responding, normally within an hour and he kept that promise even with the five hour time difference between the UK and the East Coast. Truelly amazing. It wasn't just at the point of booking, Bruce was attentive throughout our stay too, nothing was too great or too small a question for him.
Hat of to Bruce's cleaning team the house was spotless and in shape.
The property is located on the Currituck Club, a private, gated community where the onsite operations team (Chris and his team) put on a great program for all. From the beach trolley bus service that runs every 15 minutes and picks you up from the top of your driveway, to kids activities that run daily (including basket ball tournaments, ballon races, beach games but to mention a few). There really is something for everyone.
Going further a field and off of the community, our children (aged 16, 12 and 10) really enjoyed surf lessons with Corolla Surf shop (Andy was a great instructor). A guided kayak tour with Costal Explorations based in Corolla village is a must, we paddled out and watched the sun setting over the sound (amazing experience). We also went on a wild horse tour and saw a couple of herds, the tour was in a hummer over the sand dunes, another great experience for all. These are just a few of the many activities we did whilst renting Sea the Green for the four weeks from 5th August 2016.
In fact we enjoyed ourselves so much... we have just booked to return for another three week stint in 2017 and we never normally return to the same property or location two years on the trot
