About this property

Cute Ozark Mountain cabin in the woods: a quiet escape or adventurous exploring

The Ozark Hideaway is the perfect place for a cozy, quiet getaway. It’s secluded location is 8 miles from quaint Gainesville, MO, home of Hootin-n-Hollerin, in Ozark County on a well-maintained gravel road. Abundant wildlife abounds throughout the 90 wooded acres, and white-tailed deer can often be seen grazing nearby. You can enjoy the well-marked hiking trails and, if you are lucky and rains have come, relax by the natural waterfall. Either way, you are sure to be amazed at the unusual, volcanic-like rock formations found in that area. If you are the more adventurous type, you may choose to venture off the trails and explore the wooded area on your own. Or, you may want to visit some of the other attractions in the area, such as the grist mills, Caney Mountain Refuge, or some of the numerous lakes, rivers and streams for seasonal adventures in floating, fishing, swimming, or boating.
If you aren’t looking for adventure but just want to rest, relax, and rejuvenate, you have definitely come to the right place. The quiet, peaceful serenity of Ozark Hideaway is hard to describe. You really must experience it for yourself. The views are breathtaking; the stars are brilliant; the air is clean; the quiet is calming. The cabin itself is most often described by our guests as “so cute, cozy, and homey”. The living room offers a gas fireplace/stove, comfortable seating, and a 50" flatscreen tv on antenna with Blue Ray DVD player. You will find a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove, refrigerator, and plenty of dishes, appliances and cookware. A beautifully furnished bedroom with queen bed and antique dresser has a sliding door onto the covered porch and ample windows to enjoy the wooded view and gorgeous sunsets. Additional sleeping space is provided by a single bed in the loft area. The spacious bathroom has a walk-in shower, as well as a hidden washer and dryer. A fire pit is available for cozy campfires and roasting hot dogs, as well as a chiminea to warm you on the back porch.
This delightful cabin in a picturesque setting is sure to be a favorite getaway for you.

Why they chose this property

Although off the beaten path, our cozy cabin offers a lovely and peaceful place to stay, yet is in close proximity to Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes, the North Fork of the White River, Bryant Creek, Caney Mtn. Conservation area, & Devil's Backbone Wilderness. So, opportunities for fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, & hunting abound. Also, you can visit the 5 grist mills of Ozark County, including Hodgson Mill, the most photographed mill in MO. Or, if you are just wanting a quiet getaway, you will enjoy lounging on the covered back porch while soaking in the panoramic views of the beautiful Ozark Hills & watching for the white tailed deer & other wildlife to meander by. The 90 acres of wooded property also allows additional options for exploration & solitude including 5 well-maintained hiking trails that begin just outside the back porch. The owner is nearby and readily available if needed.

What makes this property unique

It is the breath-taking beauty and panoramic views of the Ozark hills, with the soothing sounds of only nature, that really attracts us to our property. Here, the fresh air and crystal clear waters are unmatched. The stars and constellations are brilliantly stunning, as we are able to view them without the hinderance of city lights. The solitude, peace, and quiet are good for the soul.
