Great little cabin for a small family, had toys for our daughter to use and water toys for adults to use too. Super private and was close to enough to a store to run for something if we forgot something. Definitely recommend for a weekend getaway!

it was wonderful. great little get away. semi-secluded, so it was so very relaxing. Fishing was good, Cabin was so sweet and everything we needed was there.
We were very pleased with the cabin.
We were about 15 mile from Dales sister so got to visit with her family and a distant relative here from Belgium that we got to visit with too. Time went by too fast.
This cabin is perfect and the lot is superb, short walk to the dock no stairs . Lot is very private with nice trees so not looking at anything except mother nature. Deer ,eagles and the fishing is excellent as well. Each room has TV with Roku setup , Kitchen has everything you need . Spotless ,high quality linens and towels . Highly Recommend and will be back at this cabin . Owner is A
This property was exactly what we needed for our stay. We came to Alexandria to visit family that live near Lake Miltona with the intention of being at their home most of our visit. This little cabin allowed our family to return home for a restful night of sleep and the comfort of being in a home with our children. Definitely will book again if returning to the area.
We absolutely loved our stay. Well kept, quiet cottage with very comfortable beds. Only thing we would change is the air fresheners (fortunately we didn’t have that one friend with us who can’t stay in places with air fresheners). We hope to be back!!! Thank you!!
My son and I were ice boating at a nearby lake over the weekend and this was the perfect place to stay overnight. VERY clean, fresh, and everything was as advertised. Easy check in/out and plenty of details from the property manager who was prompt with communication.
We had a great time at this cozy little house right on the lake. Lots to do within a 30 minute drive or even a walk down to a vineyard/winery! There is a mowed path over to the neighbor’s house (where more of our family was staying) so it made for a convenient trek. Clean little house. Perfect for a long weekend or week!
We had a great time staying at this cabin. It is a wonderful cabin!! It was very clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. It was bright and sunny and a wonderful view of the lake. It was just a matter of a few feet to the water. I would highly recommend this cabin to a couple or a small family. We will definitely rent it again if the dates we need are available.
Our little 3 night getaway for our family of 4 was absolutely lovely! The host was very efficient when it came to check-in and information prior to our stay, they communicated very well! We also appreciated the early check-in of 2 PM so we could enjoy most of our first day. When we arrived, the place was spotless! The lake was a little green our first day but you can’t help that… It eventually cleared up and we enjoyed the lake even more! We loved the little beach area and the nice, flat grassy area! The side deck was a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee. The table for 2 was great, but if I could recommend anything, it would be to get a patio set for four to accommodate outdoor dinners. Lastly, we loved how quiet and private this area was! And when we did want to venture out, so many options nearby!
We absolutely loved our time here. Mandi was great about answering my questions and everything listed about the property was accurate, which was important since there was no stove/oven but there were other cooking appliances and I planned my meal around those. The cabin was immaculate but also felt cozy, perfect for a weekend getaway on the lake in winter. We went ice fishing, watched movies, cooked, and hung out. Bed was comfy. Check in and out was very easy and instructions were clear. Would love to come in the summer and try out the paddle boat!
Everything was exactly as stated. We had a great time on the water with the paddle boat, paddle board and kayaks and hung out on the dock. We didnt do much fishing. We were able to have a campfire one night. There was plenty of room inside and out. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. Slept very well. We had what we needed and we brought what was stated wasn't there such as lawn chairs, etc. The gas station was just down the road. Lake Carlos state park is very close so we so were able to hike there and mark another park off our list too. Would definitely rent again.
We stayed at this cute cabin for a weekend! We loved the big windows and view. Perfectly stocked with standard items and fit our family of four. We played games, used the paddle boat, and relaxed. Great place!
The property and location were wonderful and the Cabin was so clean and had everything we needed and more! Two suggestions would be: We needed more than just the one mirror that's in the bathroom and maybe a table by the beds to put stuff on. Wonderful place to stay! I'm sure we will be back!!!
We stayed 3 very relaxing nights at Mandi’s cabin celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. The place was VERY clean. I suffer from allergies and had some difficulty finding a place in/near Alex that didn’t have pet issues. We were blessed to find this VRBO at a fair price. I did not suffer any allergy problems! The days we stayed we both very wet and very windy, making shopping in nearby Alexandria unattractive. It was great just sitting by the fireplace with our feet up. The rain/sleet/snow took a toll on the driveway and we did end up leaving ruts. But that’s Minnesota in the spring. One other thing to point out is that there wasn’t much for guest storage in the bathroom or kitchen. Even a rolling cart with drawers would address that issue. All in all, it was a wonderful trip. We would like to see what it’s like in the summertime!

About the host
Hosted by Mandi Bachmann
I’m from Alexandria, MN, and I love spending time with my family—especially when we’re out on the lake. Much of our time is spent enjoying the water or cheering on our kids at their various activities.
I enjoy hosting because it gives me the chance to share the beauty, peace, and joy of our lake property with others. It’s a special place for our family, and I love seeing guests create their own memories here.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because I grew up spending time at my family’s cabin on Lake Irene, and it has always been a place filled with great memories and natural beauty. When we found this property, we were immediately drawn to the peaceful privacy it offers and the wonderful hard-bottom shoreline—perfect for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the lake just steps from the cabin.
What I enjoy most about this area is the quiet, welcoming atmosphere and the way the lake brings people together. It’s a place where you can slow down, appreciate nature, and truly unwind.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property unique is the beautifully level lot that leads directly to the lake, creating easy, seamless access from the cabin to the water. There are no steep hills or long stairways—just a gentle walk right to the shoreline. This layout makes swimming, fishing, and lakeside activities incredibly convenient and enjoyable for guests of all ages. It's a rare and special feature that truly sets our property apart.
