Everything was as stated in the description, very short drive distance to the village. And even shorter drive or walk to the lake :)

Thank you for your kind review! We’re glad everything matched the description and that you enjoyed the convenient location near the village and the lake. We’d love to host you again soon! 😊
House was clean and check in was very smooth. Front door deadbolt did not lock but, we still felt safe at the property. We did have an unexpected guest show up the day we were to check out at 8:30am. This was a little uncomfortable for my group. My girls loved all the little touches of bears all over the house and the giant teddy bear in the game room. I will definitely keep this home on out list for another trip.
Very cozy and clean. The only thing I can add is that the couch was very uncomfortable! Other than that, it was the perfect little cabin for a short stay.
Nice place clean , but the foosball table was for kids and the front and back deck could use some more serious work. The screws are all above board, making it a tripping hazard or an injury. but besides that we had a great time we like to place and we would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was clean and bigger than I expected. A remarkable price and worth the trip. We were disappointed that the Hot tub as advertised was not working thus I would’ve given this 5 stars. But we were able to check out late and that was deeply appreciated. Overall I would rebook.

Thank you for your kind review! We're so glad you had a wonderful time and found the cabin clean and spacious. We apologize for the hot tub not being operational during your stay and appreciate your understanding. We're happy the late check-out helped make your experience better. We’d love to welcome you back for another stay and ensure everything is perfect next time!
We really enjoyed our stay! The only downside, was the lack of fans for the upstairs. Having an 8-month-old and a 3-year-old, plus my husband and I… we didn’t get much sleep due to the heat upstairs. Other than that, the kitchen was stocked with appliances and kitchen necessities that we need to cook every night. My toddler cried when we left, he loved it so much & so did we!
Nice basic home with great backyard if there's snow.
This home needs some updates but it's fine for a short stay. We were looking forward to sledding in the backyard, which would have been perfect because of the slope and space, but there wasn't much snow. I like that there are 3 bedrooms upstairs and one with a futon/couch downstairs. The hot tub was lovely. No bubbles but great temp for a cold night. The neighborhood is very nice.

Hello Shari, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are so happy to hear that this property Forest Trail Retreat was all you expected in a home and that you and your group got to enjoy their stay. Thank you for your input we will pass on this information. Come back soon, Destination Big Bear
The location is terrific although there is no direct lake access, the house is surrounded by private properties with no lake access. The marina is walking distance but there is no fishing/lake access there either. We enjoyed out stay here but some things could use some TLC: the downstairs bathroom tub would not drain, the upstairs shower head is extremely loose, the shower glass door was hard to open, the game room tv remotes wouldn’t work and some of the outlets didn’t work or the extension cords didn’t work so we weren’t able to use the ceiling fan in the upstairs room. There’s also a random basketball hoop in the backyard. We did appreciate how close to town we were and the neighborhood. The rooms were spacious and the bedding was clean. The hot tub was clean as well! The slight issues didn’t affect our stay one bit, I just don’t think they’re being reported to the office.
We enjoyed our time hanging out at the house. We walked around the neighborhood which provided nice views near water. The location is close to the main strip in town so it's easy to get everywhere. We just wished the hot tub was working.
