Drift Away - A beautiful River front home in Southern Oregon

Drift Away is just that! It’s located right on the Rogue River with beautiful views. The home sleeps 14 people and is a special house next door to our Sleepy Canoe House which also sleeps 14. Our dream is to host weddings, family gatherings, wellness retreats, fishing and rafting camps. The Drift Away house has all amenities for entertaining and a full office for efficiently getting things done so you can enjoy the rest of your stay. Enjoy dining and living with a beautiful fireplace and river view. Bring your fishing gear to land a famous Rogue River salmon or two or simply enjoy soaking in the cool river's edge pools below the house. Zen rocks for stacking. Hiking, biking, sports park, family beach park are all within two blocks and a nice walk up the river to the Class IV rapids. Whitewater rafting, fishing expeditions, jet boat tours, winery tours, shopping, golf, and a wide variety of restaurants and site seeing will entertain your guests.

Any guests over 4, we charge 30 dollars each per night due to extra bed usage and amenities used.

MTB/Hiking/Getaway

The place was just great, just as described on the site. Mountain biking and hiking was great and we went to the Redwoods and Crater Lake. You couldn’t ask for a better place to stay.

Quaint house on the river!

Clean house with lots of upgrades. Converted garage into a game room. The beds were all very comfortable with more than enough linens, towels & cloths. Great deck overlooking the River. I messaged the owner several times about an early check-in & although we weren't able to get in that much earlier, she was very responsive & nice. Overall, I highly recommend!!!

Crater Lake

Would highly recommend this home. The interior was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully appointed. We enjoyed the deck, rocking chairs, and the fire pit. The hot tub was wonderful after a trip to Crater Lake and a rafting trip on the Rogue River. If we were able to stay a day longer we would have loved to take out the bikes. We also recommend Rogue River Rafters. Within walking distance and Dancin Winery in Jacksonville about 20 min away. Thank you!

Huge space, endless entertainment opportunities

The location is very atractive, looking over a nicely wild river. Then there are two separate balcony areas overlooking that river. A hot tub (102 degrees)! A barbeque, seating fora LOT of people. While we only counted three bedrooms, not the four advertised, there is still room for at least ten guests. The garage is a geniune man cave. So, a great place for a bunch of folks, and an extravagance for a couple of relatively spry seniors.

We were to old, lol

learned a couple things. I thought because we usually sleep in queen size beds in hotels the bunk beds should be ok. My 40 year old daughters had trouble getting up and down and definitely not for 65 and 85 year olds. We also could not get up or down the path to the river, so plans to spend the afternoon was a wash. I have never ran across the problem with paper products before and I have stayed at a lot of places. The home is beautiful and we made it all work . We had a great weekend.

Fantastic Home and Location!

We rented this house and the one next door for a company retreat. The homes were both bright and clean and in excellent condition with lots of fun amenities indoors and outdoors. Communication with the owner and maintenance agent was prompt and helpful. The neighborhood was great. The river and views were beautiful. We didn't find the freeway volume to be a problem at all (we could hear it, but it wasn't loud or distracting). We loved that the living room/kitchen areas had LOTS of windows looking over the river. The top queen bunks weren't ideal for adults, but would be a great place for kids to sleep. The beds were clean and extra comfortable (we didn't use the pullouts or murphy beds). The hosts have obviously had some experience and done their research on creating a fantastic getaway! We would definitely stay here again!

Well Appointed, Good Home Base

This home has everything you need. It's clean, incredibly well appointed - so many thoughtful details (feminine hygiene products, basic spices, shampoo/conditioner, bathrobes, comfortable mattresses and bedding, etc) - and is well decorated without being overly personalized. It's in a good location to enjoy the surrounding region - hikes, wineries, and the adorable Jacksonville with multiple shops and local restaurants. The owner was responsive and kind, and we had the opportunity to meet the property manager when we were checking out and she too was personable and thoughtful. The neighborhood is a little bit dense, and the highway is just on the other side of the river so there is traffic noise (outside, you cannot hear it from inside). We had no issue with the density of the neighborhood because we were just two people, but larger groups may find it challenging to observe the quiet hours/not disturb neighbors if they're utilizing the outdoor space. We would happily stay here again; even during COVID 19 this house felt safe and comfortable as it has two separate bathrooms and 3 separate bedrooms, plus outdoor space and activities to make distancing easy.

Don't rent for river access

We were excited to stay in this nice, newer home on the river with a great deck/patio and hot tub. We rented it specifically for my nephews to be able to fish from the property. You can barely see the river from the property and cannot hear it over the traffic. The path down is steep. Once you get past all of the goats (and poop) you'll find there is no bank to stand on and the river is too fast for any activities. We couldn't use the deck for our last two days because the handyman kept popping by unannounced. The top bunks are too close to the ceiling and lights for anyone over 10 to use. The garage is not a suitable 'room'-it's dirty, there's no HVAC or fans, and full of flies as the trash cans are right outside the door. The portable A/C is full of mold-so bad it would make people sick to use it. Extremely low water pressure in the bathrooms. The house was only 'dorm-room' clean. Surfaces looked ok, but everything else is grubby. Pieces of food, games, confetti, etc. all over floors. Fridge and freezer FILTHY. Human hair all over bathrooms and rugs. SO dusty. Our allergies were worse inside than out. It's time for a deep clean!

We stayed here on our way up to a Hood River wedding, and loved this house and location for the 7 of us and our mini-schnauzer. The river is right by the house and there’s a couple of stationary food trucks within walking distance that had delicious food. I love the character of the house.

Amazing view

Great location to where we needed to be. The view is absolutely amazing! Would’ve given it five stars, except the hot tub seemed to be rather old. We weren’t able to adjust the temperature so it seems super hot and not all of the jets were working, nor were any of the lights. Other than that, we had a great time at this Home.

It’s the view for me

Nice, clean and beautiful views. Really felt like a home. Only a little pointer, the 4th bedroom is the garage but if you have a teen with you they wouldn’t mind. Thank you for sharing this house with the world.

Quick getaway

The house has only 3 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms were bunk beds only. Also, has 2 hideaway beds that were not comfortable. Narrow small kitchen, only 1 person can cook at a time. We made the best of it but not planning to stay again.

Nice home and decor

We enjoyed our stay here. It is on the river with a lighted path leading down. Lots of outdoor entertainment options. The decor is very attractive. Living room was very comfortable. Our visit was in the winter so the gas fireplace hit the spot.

Beautiful Home Right on the Rogue Rive

Our family stayed at this new home right on the Rogue River before a raft trip in early August. The home was brand new and worked out perfectly for our family—large outdoor spaces including steps to the river's edge were an added feature. The property manager was very responsive and Wifi was fast and reliable. The beds were comfortable and linens were top notch...

Rogue River Bliss

We absolutely loved the Drift Away home! The home is gorgeous inside & out, what a great setting to be next to the beautiful Rogue River! It was very warm while we were there, but it didn't keep us from enjoying the amazing outdoor space, very nice to have a fan in the gazebo & nice to be able to stick our toes in the river to cool down. It was a delight to have such a beautiful & cozy place to stay, the decor was perfect. This home has many amenities & did not disappoint our family, we could have stayed a lot longer.

Beautiful place!

Although this was a short stay for us, this was a beautiful home! Very clean and had everything we needed. Although we weren’t able to utilize the hot tub due to the 114° weather, we were able to walk down to the river and weed in the cold water to cool off.

Gold Hill Stay

I liked the property, it was just like the pictures. The top bunk however was really close to the ceiling, a little tight for the young adults sleeping there. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and there were plenty of towels. There were minimal supplies for our 6 day trip so we had to pick up extra at the store. The River was beautiful, but the path was being worked on and it was a little treacherous for some of our group to get to. Once you’re there, there’s no where to sit and enjoy it from the shore. There’s also a lot of traffic noise from the road. The deck was full of cobwebs and the patio cushions were dirty. There were also a lot of bugs on the furniture. They did have an exterminator come by while we were gone, I felt a little uncomfortable with that, but it’s their house and I wasn’t going to be inconvenienced by having to wait on them while I’m on vacation. The hot tub was great, but the handyman was on the premises and we had to wait for him to finish working on it for us to use it. We saw him there several times while we were there, privacy was somewhat of an issue, you’re also right next door to your neighbor. The house for the most part fit our needs. I was informed after we left that apparently 2 pillowcases were missing and one of the sheets had ink stains and had to be replaced, they charged me $100, that didn’t sit well with me.
