We (two adults and two kids) had a great time at Kick Back. The kids loved the water slide and peddle boats. The wagon wheel suite was comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back.
Wow! What a place full of wonderful people. I don’t know where to begin. My sons and I were staying at Kickback Ranch as a result of evacuating for Hurricane Ida. When we arrived, we realized there were many other families from our area who came as a result of the storm.
First of all, the place is beautiful. Lots of stuff for kids to do. We enjoyed the water slide, the lake, the canoes, and the basketball court. We grilled and made s’mores over the fire. If you have kids, they will love it here. The cabins are very comfortable and clean. We stayed in The Wagon wheel suite and also the cowboy cabins during our week and a half evacu-cation. I recommend both depending on your needs.
The best part of our experience, however, was the people. I am so humbled and forever grateful by the kindness showed to my family during a very difficult time by the staff and owners of Kickback. They treated us like family, fed us everyday, and together with local churches, distributed donations of food, clothing, and personal items to families from South La., some of whom had lost everything in the storm.
What a tremendous life lesson for my kids to see such kindness and love in action. We feel we have gained friends for life and we will definitely be back. Hopefully, just for vacation next time.
If you’re thinking of staying here don’t hesitate!
Had a great time at the property.
Water slide was awesome. Swimming on the ponds were cool. Couldn’t use the pool because we weren’t members, but spent more time on the slide than anything. Cabin was nice, bathroom was really cool. Sink was sort of small but overall, had a great time.

Very Fun Experience
The slide was super. We came on a rainy weekend so we couldn’t enjoy properly fully. The ponds didn’t seem very “stocked”
But overall fun time with the kids
It was smaller then I expected but still very nice, We couldn't get the t.v to work in the room and the smoke alarm kept going off whenever I would cook simple things like hotdogs or hamburgers. The balcony was beautiful! and the slide is awesome! There is fishing allowed canoes, boats and paddle boats for use. The gift store seemed to always be closed and you have to dump your own trash which I didn't like much but not a super big deal, its just a good little walk to get to where you have to dump the trash. One of the staff asked us when we were leaving which I thought was a bit rude he could have said nothing or asked so how long are you going to be with us, that would have been better. We never saw people walking around which we all thought was weird, we saw staff and a lady with her little fat dog just too cute but that was it. We weren't allowed in the pool which sucked and the game room didn't have any working games, there was change stuck in all of the machines, the workout room was very nice but there was no treadmill which was kind of weird. But it was very peaceful and not to far from home, would we come back no, and not because we had a horrible time it's because for what you are getting its not priced appropriately. We did have 6 adults but I expected a bigger area, it was just one big room.
The property was well kept and quiet. The kids had fun in the gameroom, playing basketball, corn hole and other outside games. With 6 people and 2 dogs in the room it was a little cramped as a one room cottage but we enjoyed ourselves none the less.
