Who owns 1-202? We are a family of 4 who love Hawaii. The kids have amazing memories of the black crabs, the honu, the surf, and Kilauea. When we are not on the Big Island, we are happy to welcome guests to Kona Makai. 2019 is our 14th year renting to guests, and we are proud to have so many return guests year after year. We comply with all Hawaii taxation and transient accommodation rental rules. Hawaii tax ID# W53666141-01 has been updated to GE-053-524-4800 and TA-053-524-4800 as of December 2016. Our STVR registration number is STVR-19-359763. January 1 2021 COVID update: Transpacific visitors are required to obtain an negative NAAT test 72 hours prior to departure from the mainland, AND also have a negative rapid antigen test upon arrival which will be administered near the baggage claim area. A positive rapid antigen test requires a confirmatory PCR test with subsequent positive PCR tests will requiring a mandatory 10 day quarantine in a locked hotel room at the traveler's cost. Condominiums and short term vacation rentals (our property) are NOT allowed as quarantine locations. Full details on the program, restrictions, traveler costs, and penalties for non-compliance can be found at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/coronavirus/ Due to COVID and travel uncertainty, we have relaxed our cancellation policy. Reservations confirmed prior to March 31 2021 for stays in 2021 have a 100% refundable COVID cancellation policy. We have also instituted a 24 hour calendar block before each reservation, allowing our cleaning crew to deep clean the unit before each new guest arrives. Be safe and we hope to welcome you soon.
