(details below)
The holiday home (gîte). Le Cheval Bleu has three double bedrooms. Each of them has a large French double bed and a separate bathroom with shower and toilet. The rooms are named Charolais, Nourrices and Flottage. They are accessed via the small outdoor driveway. The path between the different spaces is a soft gravel path of a few metres. On the first floor Le Flottage has a separate entrance to the façade of the building. The three bedrooms are furnished with a bistro table and two adapted chairs, a dresser or a small wardrobe, a coat rack or clothes rail, a wall mirror, a hairdryer and an electric kettle for making tea or coffee. In addition, Nourrices and Flottage have an armchair.
Charolais and Nourrices are located on the first floor of the central part of the building (the former stable). They start from a spacious living room which is part of the holiday home.
The wooden part of the building has two entrances - one to the façade and the other to the garden. It hosts the combined living and dining room. You will also find the kitchen, as well as technical and storage rooms not accessible to guests. The kitchen is well equipped. It includes, among other things, an electric stove with oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a Siemens bean-to-cup coffee machine. One of the doors opens onto a small terrace at the back of the house. Here you will find chairs and a table. Right next to it is a terrace that serves as the second outdoor living area of the cottage.
The main plot of the property, elongated and gently sloping, covers about 1,000 square meters. It includes a lovely ornamental garden overlooking the very quiet street, two terraces for guests, and a large garden (cultivated without chemicals). The nearby street is not very busy and noise pollution is minimal.
Our Wi-fi is free. We have a solar thermal system on the roof and a small photovoltaic system in the garden. The latter contributes to the basic supply of electricity to the house, the former provides most of the hot water. If the sun is not enough, the conventional electrical system takes over. As is the case in many parts of France, the Cheval Bleu does not have central heating. But all the bedrooms, the living room and the dining room are equipped. The house does not have air conditioning, but its thick stone walls keep it warm in winter, and cool in summer.
