The original building was built in 1953 by the late Dewey Brooks and served as a drug store for many years before eventually being abandoned in the early 2000’s. Beautiful property. Very clean and comfortable. Much larger than I expected and close to everything. Owners were very easy to get in touch with. Will definitely book again.
What a beautiful condo - we loved the interior design of the building, and the owners had everything available we could possibly need. The back deck was a huge plus for us, with plenty of tables and chairs to hangout and socialize.
This was the best stocked rental I've stayed in. It was beautiful, clean and had everything you could possibly need. Close to town and lots of space. Lots of linens, towels and everything you need in the kitchen.
This condo is breathtaking, it’s in a great location to be close to the landing, you grab a ride to float and it ends at your condo. Also close to all shopping. It has an awesome waterfall, it’s on the cliffs, has its own access…everything was perfect until we tried to go to sleep. The beds are so rock hard no one in our group got any sleep. we fought over the two sofas. Please host get some nice mattress toppers or something! We want to go back to this condo but can’t if it means no sleep. The host was so kind and helpful as well. For the price, you pay I’m not sure why they skimped on the beds…and it’s an easy fix so I hope they do so I can go back.
We booked memorial day weekend to spend with our two kids, ages 6 and 11, and my father-in-law. The place was a great location with access to the river. We booked a float trip one day, and the next day we took our own kayaks up river on our own. Location was excellent. Condo was very nice and well stocked. We did have a little trouble with cell phone connectivity at the condo but that was the only drawback. We’d love to stay here again!
Clean welcoming property. Comfortable stay with everything in Van Buren close! Great river access with a short walk down to a great river swimming/hangout area!
Everything was super clean and very relaxed with the view of current River. It's a short hike down to your private gravelbar. Well worth the price for a weekend getaway. Highly recommend
Managing partner of Condo Hotel Marketplace. Have been managing our vacation rentals in Vegas and Belize for many years. Have been vacationing in Van Buren my entire life. My parents were born and raised in Eminence and the Irish Wilderness, moved to St Louis for jobs, and eventually retired to Van Buren.
When we saw the Brookstone Condos for the first time we knew it was a perfect fit for our little family. And then later came to the conclusion that we could let friends stay when we were not on the River.
The Brookstone building is near and dear in my heart. I can remember it's history over the years when my family would pass thru Van Buren on our way to Fremont or Gooseneck. I also collect typewriters and bought one of my first at this building when it was an Antique Store (about 33 years ago).
It's truly like coming home for me. And I hope it will be your home away from home on the river too!
Why they chose this property
This is a riverfront property in a great location close to town. Absolutely everything you need is within walking distance. We have a walkway down to beautiful Current River. And the pedestrian bridge over the River will take you to downtown Van Buren. Groceries, gas, canoe, kayak, and tube rental, ice cream, beer, ice....all within walking distance!!
What makes this property unique
Access to Current River is why we purchased this particular property. To be able to see the River from most rooms is also a huge perk. We find the river our entertainment year round. We enjoy floating in the warm summer months. And Van Buren makes a great starting point no matter which float you choose in the area. And the gravel bar with bonfires and year round fishing and boating are all also very popular with our family and friends.
