Idlewood Cottage is a spacious 2400 sf modern home with 5 bedrooms, 3 baths and play space in basement located in the Harbor Club Resort. Features comfortable, quality furnishings, fully equipped kitchen, and seasonal outdoor gas grill. Equipped with cable TV, Wi-Fi, DVD player, Smart TVs, central air, and washer/dryer. First floor bedroom suite (no stairs) with attached bath, and four additional bedrooms on second level. Idlewood is the perfect year-round retreat.

My family and I had a great time here. There was plenty of space for us all. The newly finished basement was a pleasant surprise and the 5 kids loved playing down there. It was a convenient location to downtown and multiple beaches. Everything was thought of in this house...beach toys, spices, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

Idlewood Vacation Stay

Owners did a great job of providing the necessities for a multi-day stay including plenty of beach toys for the kids and games and toys as well as a double stroller and wagon for the walk to the beach. House was nicely furnished. Only drawback was it seemed a bit tight for the amount of young children we had (4 under the age of 4), and a finished basement or bigger backyard would have helped. Also, we were a bit surprised by how close the proximity of the neighbors’ houses were to this house.

Hi Mary, I am sorry the house didn't earn 5 stars -- this is a heart breaker as it is our first non-5 star rating and we take great pride in trying to offer extras for our guests to earn top rating. With 5 bedrooms, over 2,000 square feet of living space, and photos of each room in our listing, we hope guests get a good snapshot of the accommodations before they book so they can determine if it meets their needs. We don't advertise (or have) a finished basement but hope the budget allows for that in the future. The home is in a development but your feedback is noteworthy about home proximity to neighbors. Much of South Haven is like this so it is hard to avoid unless you stay farther away from the beaches or downtown. Thanks for staying at the house.

Perfect Stay for a Special Occasion in South Haven!

We had an incredible stay at this VRBO in South Haven! The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Communication with the owner was seamless—they were responsive, helpful, and made sure our stay went off without a hitch.We were in town for my daughter’s wedding at Black River Barn, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect. It was just a short drive to the venue, which made our busy schedule so much easier to manage. The house was also just a couple of minutes from downtown South Haven, where we enjoyed some lovely walks, great restaurants, and charming shops.This home truly felt like a home away from home, and we’re so grateful for the experience during such a special time for our family. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area—you won’t be disappointed!

Property is on Sandbridge Beach. The widest strand of sand, quiet. End of the road. Very family friendly or couples. Easy access to beach. Just walk out property and you’re there. We had 4 br 4 bath ocean front balcony. Our unit was impressively decorated. Be aware there is only enough house goods to last a few days if you have a family. Easy 15 min drive inland to Harris Teeter or Target. Every morning pods of dolphins back and forth. Beach set ups can be arranged by local vendor- great idea as it gives your group a point of contact and shade. A coffee bar /cafe is across street. This location on Sandbridge is not a quick drive to VA Beach proper and that’s the idea. Loud crowds are not here.

This home is a JOY and so is the owner!

We loved this home from the moment we stepped inside. Bright, spacious, and pristine. Loads of storage space. House is generously stocked with everything you need--bath products, laundry supplies, cooking oils and spices, tons of towels, kids' books, toys, even night lights throughout. Plentiful beach towels, chairs, toys, and a special beach stroller that works on the sand. Close to all beaches, and a quick drive (or leisurely walk) to the pool. We stayed for 9 days and rotated in various groups of friends and family. Everyone from ages 3.5 to 82 loved this home. The bedroom and full bath on the main floor was wonderful for my mom who struggles with steps. The primary bedroom upstairs is enormous--such a treat! Grandkids loved the toys, books, and bunk room. The owner, Lori, is fantastic. We consider her a friend!

Beautiful Home

My family had a wonderful stay at Idlewood. It was the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in! Hats off to their cleaning crew! Everything was as described and more. The kitchen had everything we needed including a full spice rack, olive oil, and balsamic. The host was amazing at helping me prepare for the trip. Property is in a nice, quiet neighborhood which also means more driving to places which we knew ahead of time based on the listing’s descriptions. (Without small kids you could walk to more stuff) We saw wild turkeys every morning! The outdoor area is very small but with all the outdoor offerings in South Haven we were ok with that. We loved the new pool - it’s so close to the house. Don’t plan on using the pool restrooms though because in the entire week we were there, there was no toilet paper, soap, or paper towels. But since you’re so close to the house it’s not a big deal. This is a great house if you’re looking for a nice, large family friendly rental! Kids of all ages will be happy and accommodated!
