Hi Lori, Thank you for taking the time to share your stay experience. We are truly sorry that your stay coincided with the Gold Mountain Fire as it moved out of the area to Gunnison. We were thankful the air quality returned to normal most of the time. Our deepest apologies when the smoky conditions were present, it made it uncomfortable to open the windows. While these unprecedented wildfire conditions were beyond our control and after July 3rd the air quality improved, we sincerely regret the impact they had on your experience. We appreciate your understanding during such a challenging time for our entire community, and we are grateful to the firefighters and emergency personnel who worked tirelessly to protect Ouray and Ridgway, keeping residents and visitors safe. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope you will consider visiting again under more typical mountain conditions to fully enjoy everything the area has to offer.
