Peaceful country oasis
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cabin. We had everything we needed! The home was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the beautiful view with our coffee in the morning. My family enjoyed exploring the grounds, visiting the fort and playing games outside. We would be happy to book again; it was lovely!

I am a petroleum Geologist working in the north Texas area. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and riding Harley Davidsons across the country. My business takes me to ranches where I conduct surveys and collect soil samples. The samples are analyzed looking for alteration due to a possible oil and gas deposit below. I love this area and love to talk geology to anyone that will listen. If you want to know more about the area geology, just ask.

Why they chose this property

This is a unique property that gives the traveler a different experience. Country living and fresh air makes this getaway unique to anyone wanting some elbow room. ABILENE ATTRACTIONS Downtown Abilene is approximately 20 minutes. Some of our favorite shops are: Karson’s, a boutique downtown, located at 202 Pine St. It is own by a native of Tuscola, Texas. For the man in your life the go to store is Lone Star Dry Goods. Also locally owned and is located at 173 Walnut St. Their “Lone Star Dry Goods” hats are in high demand nationwide. Cypress Street Station, 158 Cypress St., is a unique restaurant downtown with several other restaurants in the downtown area. Grain Theory, 202 Pine St., is a new downtown restaurant brewery. Taylor County Tap House, 4002 Catclaw Dr., is also a local favorite with unique food such as chicken fried bacon with biscuits and gravy. The absolute best BBQ restaurant in this area of Texas is the Shed at 7925 Buffalo Gap Road. Get there at 11:00 when it opens, or you will have to wait. When the food is gone, the restaurant closes. Buffalo Gap Attractions The world-famous Perini Ranch Steak house is in Buffalo Gap at 3002 FM 89, Buffalo Gap, Texas. This restaurant serves the best prime rib on the planet. Reservations are required. (325)572-3339 Tom Perini, owner, was catering President Bush at the White House on 9-11-2001. When the terrorist attack occurred, he took his chuck wagon catering crew to the pentagon and fed the emergency workers. Taylor County History Center / Buffalo Gap is a local museum at 133 William St. in the Gap. The center piece of the historic village is the 1879 structure that housed both jailhouse and courthouse for Taylor County. A doctor’s office, barber shop, and other buildings highlight the village. The Buffalo Gap Flea Market is held the 3rd Saturday of each month. It is found at 100 Vine St. It is always a fun place to walk around.
