Private Oceanfront 3BR Cottage

***Peaceful and private oceanfront retreat*** Fully renovated 3BR/2BA cottage with stairs descending from bluff to private beachfront. Located between Nobadeer and Tom Nevers beaches, the property is accessed by a 2 mile stretch of dirt road that weaves through conservation land (Madequecham Valley). The cottage provides ample opportunities for beach-time, birdwatching, wildlife, barbequing and surfcasting. Moreover, with very few neighboring homes, this is the place for quietude and long walks in nature. Please watch our VIDEO below.

UPDATES FOR 2024: The kitchen has been stocked with a new set of GreenPans and a Nespresso Vertuo machine with milk frother. We have also provided a new king-sized bed in the master bedroom and a new (larger) coffee table in the living room.

The house, which is south-facing and bathed in sunlight, brings together both rustic charm and contemporary luxury. There are two exterior decks for sunbathing and outdoor grilling/dining. The house has been completely refurnished and offers modern amenities/linens. Kitchen and dining room features 18ft cathedral ceiling with breathtaking views of the sea. Living room features dual facing sofas, large coffee table for puzzles/games. Master bedroom features king bed and en-suite bathroom. Second bedroom provides standard double bed, while third bedroom (loft) contains two twin beds -- perfect for children, teens or young adults. The house contains two bathrooms, one larger and one smaller (in the MBR), plus an outdoor shower. There is also an outdoor firepit.

Three items to note: 1) the property is part of a family compound and the driveway and beach stairs are shared with the adjacent house (20W MVR); 2) the 3rd bedroom loft is accessed by a bunk-bed-type ladder and is not suitable for very young children or older adults; and 3) the washer/dryer is located in an exterior shed. Pet approval on a case-by-case basis with supplemental security deposit (they must be house-trained, people-friendly and dog-friendly). AppleTV provided, along with WiFi. [For early spring and late fall renters, there is baseboard heat in the living room and both ground floor bedrooms, plus three additional space heaters.]

Peaceful Cottage on the Water

The cottage looks exactly like the pictures and the host was very responsive throughout our stay. You can hear the waves of the ocean so easily from the living room and deck and the views were beautiful.

Great secluded stay

We stayed for a week in early spring and had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. It is a secluded property and we could sit and listen to the waves from the house. We had 4 adults, two infants, and a golden retriever and we were all comfortable. The WiFi in the den was fast enough for efficient remote desktop work from home. The beach is fantastic and private with stair access. Grab some food and drink at stop and shop close by and never want to leave the house!

Wonderful Oceanside retreat

Can’t recommend this property highly enough! The owners are incredibly kind and accommodating and checked in to make sure everything was going well. The house is full of light, amazing views, comfortable beds and linens and thoughtful touches throughout. This is one of those special island properties that is cherished by the owners and it shows. Located on a favorite beach of ours we were taking daily climbs down the ladder to the beach and basically lived on the deck, even in April! Can’t wait to go back! Thanks for having us and making it possible.

Maybe our favorite Nantucket visit (of many!)

The home is a special one and we really feel lucky to have gotten to visit. About 15 minutes from town, the cottage which has been nicely updated and sits just off the bluffs and beach. Almost every room has views of the ocean to wake up and fall asleep to. The dirt road is long but after a couple trips, it really doesn't bother you a bit because it puts you out in the quiet and calm and all you hear are the ocean waves. The hosts were great communicators, the check in process was so simple and it really felt like your own beach cottage rather than just another rental home. Can't recommend higher!

Wonderful Week On Nantucket

I could go on and on about the property and the island, so I’ll have to summaize a bit. The property - as advertised, great location (on bluff with beach, ocean just outside your door), convenient location (between Nantucket town and ‘Sconset), lovely style, roomy, incredible views from all rooms, and fully equipped (both bath and kitchen). Plus hosts were great throughout the process and stay! The Island - we found being there during “off season” a great experience - easier parking and more “elbow room” walking around the town center, not to mention having what seemed like miles of beach to ourselves. We loved touring the island and talking with folks who live there year round (a shout out to Rick and Sam from ‘Sconset). To sum it all up - we will be back ASAP.

The Best Place!!!

We LOVED this coastal home!!! The sunshine, the sky, the beach at your feet! So many windows and views! The home has everything you need when you're on vacation. The mattresses were the perfect firmness. The linens soft & comfy. The towels thick and luxurious, if you're a person who appreciates that. So much room and comfort for a small family or larger (up to six people.) Apple TV, games, books....for when you're not on the beach stairs to the sandy beach. We could see some seals out in the water (in May when the water was still cold!) Neighbors were friendly, the street quiet and private. Deer prance through at times. Convenient to drive to everywhere on the island. Chris was an excellent host and great communicator. We've cherished our week in Nantucket at Chris's seaside home!

AMAZING!

Wonderful hosts, stunning property... We stayed with our dog and enjoyed the sound and view of the ocean from the deck with our own path to the beach. The house is lovely, as described, with everything you could need. It is one of those places that is hard to leave!.

We loved the property. The deck was our favorite spot.

Not many places allow dogs and we were so happy we could take our senior dog on vacation with us. Having the beach right next to us and hearing the waves from the cottage made for such a relaxing vacation.

Amazing!

The property was exactly as seen on the website. Clean, airy, light, right next to the beach. Really peaceful and private. The morning light coming into the property is like a scene out of "Grace and Frankie" beach house. You could hear the waves especially at night. Chris was great. Accommodating, and accessible. Couldn't have asked for a better host. Highly recommended and I plan to come back!

Nearby Altar Rock provides the largest expanse of conservation land on the island and one of the highest points to take in the sweeping views in all four directions.
