In December, we stayed at this cabin in Tennessee, and unfortunately, the property was poorly maintained and quite old. The furniture was scratched and dirty. The floor was filthy, and behind the TV, there were dead bugs . It seemed like the floor hadn’t been washed with water in a long time. The kitchen cabinets inside were damaged and not repaired or remodeled. The property only has one parking space, not suitable for a large car.I’d also like to mention that the glasses and plates were dirty, as if no one truly cleaned anything, and renters must be the ones cleaning up. The brooms, mops, and cleaning supplies were left beside the refrigerator, and everything was disgustingly dirty. This was overall a disappointing experience.

We received your review and wanted to reach out. We’re sincerely sorry that you found the cabin poorly maintained and unclean, as that is completely unacceptable and not the level of care we strive for. Hearing about dirty floors, scratched furniture, damaged cabinets, dead bugs, and unclean dishes is extremely concerning to us. We understand how frustrating and disappointing it must have felt to arrive and see those conditions. Cleanliness should never be in question, and we deeply regret that this was your experience. Your feedback has been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams so these issues can be thoroughly addressed. We truly apologize that your December stay in Tennessee did not meet expectations. Thank you.
This is a cute little property, if you are planning on spending alot of time away from the cabin it’s perfect. I would say the cabin is a little outdated. No smart tv in the bedroom we stayed in. We didn’t use the upstairs. Also, there was a 5 disc cd player that took me back to my highschool days. There is no table on the balcony as pictured. I was a little disappointed on how outdated the cabin was but the stay was nice.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that the cabin suited your needs for a getaway, and we truly appreciate your feedback. We understand your thoughts on the outdated aspects and will certainly take that into consideration as we continue improving. It’s wonderful to know that your overall stay was still enjoyable!
Beautiful views. Cabin was cozy and warm. Hot tub was great to soak in after a lot of walking. My son and I used the pool table a lot. Nice rustic feel to it and unassuming. Everything was clean and comfortable. Even had a bear attack our truck and tore open the tonneau cover looking for goodies…which there were none. We are not even mad. We thought it was hilarious. Close proximity to downtown. Enjoyed every minute of it.

We're genuinely delighted you enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and amenities of our cabin! The bear incident must have been quite the surprise, but we're glad it added a touch of humor to your adventure. It's wonderful to hear that the proximity to downtown and the rustic charm of the cabin enhanced your stay. We truly appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back for more memorable moments!
Late Summer trip. Everything was clean and in working order. The deck provides a beautiful view of the mountains that is fairly private from other nearby houses. Hot tub area is very private. The water pressure is lower than normal (I expect due to being up on a mountain side) but certainly manageable. Did not see any rodents, bugs, etc. inside. The drive up mountain roads is extremely steep; recommend AWD or 4WD especially if coming in the winter. Overall, wonderful place to stay and I would stay again.

The UNcozy Bear
How can I describe the unique experience of Gatlinburg’s UNcozy Bear cabin? It’s kind of like that MTV show, Catfish. You show up expecting a “hard 6” with a pool table and hot tub. Only to find a creaky, outdated shrine to Elvis, complete with peeling window tint and water damage from a leaky roof! If you bring your kids, make sure to pack their flashlights and light-up sketchers for the long and dark decent down to the cabin! Once you make it down safely, enjoy a brisk dip in the hot tub for all the neighbors to see! After a soak in the tub, grab one of the broken sticks and play a quick game of pool with the family. Just make sure to keep your shoes on as the pool balls have a tendency to slip through the holes in the pockets and land on your feet! After all the excitement and swelling ends, follow the many bear decorations and Elvis memorabilia to the bedrooms for a long night of tossing and turning on the most uncomfortable beds you’ll ever sleep on. While you contemplate ways to keep the temperature regulated long enough to pass out, remember the only “cozy bear” will be in your car if you don’t lock the doors! So, if you’ve ever wanted to use the same model and year appliances that Elvis Presley once used…..then maybe The UNcozy Bear is a good fit for your next cabin retreat! Don’t worry, they won’t change a thing!

We're grateful for your honest review, Whitney, and we regret to hear your cabin stay did not meet expectations. Although we wish we had been aware of the issues you experienced during your stay, we completely understand your frustration overall. Your review has been passed on to the appropriate departments for a more thorough inspection of the property to determine where we can improve to prevent this from happening again. Our guests' experience is very important to us, and we hate that your vacation was affected by these inconveniences. We greatly appreciate any feedback given to us, and please be assured we will work diligently to get this cabin back up to our standards. We, again, sincerely apologize for your disappointing experience. This is not our norm, and we would love the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
I was notified a few days before arrival that the chimney had damage and we couldn’t light the gas fire. No big deal. But then it rained and the cabin leaked in three locations. When we left in the daylight the next day we could see the chimney was completely broken on the ground and there was a tarp covering part of the roof. I don’t think they should have rented it in that condition. Luckily it stopped raining. But the floors already have damage from past rains.
I found the drive up the mountains rough- I realize this might be normal- but it required being back by dark. The parking spot didn’t fit our car, which was a challenge.
I was also very confused by being called at 11 pm by the property and told to evacuate immediately, despite not being in the evacuation area. Being from out of town, in a major wind storm leaving in the middle of the night was a huge challenge- especially since none of our neighbors were evacuated. I understand the abundance of caution, however driving down the mountain with trees falling was equally dangerous. I felt it was unfair to be told to evacuate when we were no where near the zone.

Marisa, we can imagine the discomfort you must have felt when having to evacuate during your vacation and completely understand your disappointment. Due to the wildfires spreading rapidly, we wanted to be proactive in notifying everyone in the surrounding areas in case of an immediate evacuation. Our guest’s safety is our number one priority, and we sincerely apologize for any dismay this caused you and your guests. We appreciate you sharing your concerns and your honest feedback with us. We would love to host a more enjoyable experience for you in the future, as this is not how we wanted you to spend your Smoky Mountain getaway.
The wooden cabin was clean, spacious, and in a great location. Had some questions about the property which were answered in a timely manner. Instructions for check in and check out process clear. Location conveniet and close to attractions. Would stay again.
Amenities include all kitchen items, soap for bathrooms, fire place, patio with a nice view, outaide hot tub, pool table, and smart TV.

Reviewer Comments:
The location and view was amazing. The lights going to the cabin (stairs going down to cabin, etc.) were not well lit - all lights next to drive and down until you triggered the security light were not working - making that a bit tricky. There were a few ants in the cabin - bathrooms & kitchen specifically. I totally appreciate the "cabin" feel however cob webs around the ceilings especially in the bathrooms were more than noticeable. The cabin's view is breath taking so a little extra care would make it nothing less than perfect!

Cabin was as described. The Kitchen and Bathrooms are in need of updating. Used two of the three pools in Chalet Village and they were nice. Location is great, just a short drive to the Park and Downtown. The Cabin cabin could use a deep cleaning as well, but overall was nice and I would stay here again.

House & view was terrific. My only suggestion is to have cleaning services do a thorough tip-to-bottom job on cob webs in the rafters, under the bed (we found an old pair of shirts under one bed left by prior occupants), and to steam clean the bed spreads ( smell funny). We had a great time and the place is really nice & priced right. Chalet personnel were great!

Reviewer Comments:
Very disappointed in the cabin. It’s dated and needs a face lift but beyond that it was full of dead and alive bugs. We called to get them cleaned up but housekeeping didn’t have a vacuum to suck up the ones in the window sills. She used a broom but couldn’t reach them all. The master bedroom had cob webs and spider webs in the windows. When we spoke to the management company they just said that it was part of being in the mountains. Not true. Our friends cabin right next door was clean and did not have the infestation ours did. At minimum, they could’ve cleaned up all the dead bugs before we arrived. Would not recommend.

Un-cozy Bear
The location and views were great but the cabin is very dated and needs updating. The biggest issue we had was all the bugs in the unit. The property manager was not empathetic and responded to our frustration with saying that it’s part of being in the mountains. The bottom line is it should’ve been cleaned before we came, and there’s clearly an infestation coming from someplace in the unit. Not only were there dead and alive bugs in all the window sills there were cobwebs and spider webs in the master bedroom. Those should’ve been taken care of as part of the routine cleaning. We called and asked that someone clean up all the dead bugs after we arrived. A lady did but she had to use the broom that was in the unit and didn’t have a vacuum cleaner that she admitted would’ve been more effective in getting them all. The cabin shops be named Cozy Bear and Bugs. We would NOT recommend it and will not be back. Total disappointment!

Sadly we were very disappointed in our eyes it was not up to c. Villages par. We have used c. Village for 30 years and found it to be not even close to their others. .bugs and dirt in the shower and hopefully dried soap on the shower walls..bugs dead all over window sills..cobwebs everywhere and not impressed with the tinting job as well as the out dated shades and poor lighting.
We really enjoyed our stay the cabin was close to town and national park. There are very steep hills to get to the cabin. We didn't stay at the cabin much, as we were on the go, but the deck has wonderful views for coffee and breakfast and the hot tub was nice after a day of adventure.
