We had a great weekend relaxing and playing in the water. The cabins were so clean. There was a great variety of water toys for the whole family to enjoy. The kids loved the paddle boat, kayaks and the pool noodles. We spent a lot of time together jumping off the docks and floating around. The fire pit area was wonderful.
Had a great girls weekend stay at Countryside Cabins. Coffee on the deck, brunch and shopping in nearby towns, afternoon kayaking and swimming and finished off a perfect day with a bonfire in the gazebo. Will definitely be back!
Family rented both cabins which was perfect. There are showers in both properties also down by the Silo/Pavillion. Fishing very good as well as swimming and jumping off the dock was fun. Place is private even though other properties up the hill. I am sure my family will be back again.
We are a family of four and this was the perfect place to stay! My kids had a blast swimming, boating and kayaking. Fishing was also a hit and they are bragging about how many they caught! We used the fire pit each night for hot dogs and s’mores. The cabin had great family games for us! Such a great place!!

Great location for a quiet get away. We enjoyed sunrise and sun sets out on the porch. The fire pit down at the gazebo was a great way to end every night. We did kayak but didn't fish, it looks like you could catch some fish anytime you want. There are short drives to some small towns in the area for a good day trip.
My husband and i along with another couple rented the cabins for a weekend get away. It was everything it said it was going to be. We fished ( i caught 30 plus fish in 24 hrs. It was awesome) used the yayaks and boat. And We enjoyed the fire pit area both nights.
Third year and still loving it. Love the new docks. Made it nice so my mom can enjoy hers when the kids were “to much” kids really loved the kayaks this year. Very happy to see the dog again. Only thing that might be nice to see a change to, the hill. Sometimes it is hard to get up. Can’t wait till next year

This rental was one of the best experiences I've had especially considering my history with VRBO. There are a couple things renters should know though. First there is no TV or shower in the room. The shower is in a separate building a few steps away. All the buildings appear very new though so all are clean and functional. The cabins themselves are small but again, new so everything works. The location was the best part. We lit the firepit in the gazebo while having a few drinks and watching the rain come down. A couple small dogs stopped by to say hi. No mosquitos even though you're right on the water. Loved the porch and the gazebo for kicking back. I'd stay here again for sure.
we departed our cabin on the afternoon of April 29, one day before we intended because our experience from arrival late on April 28 through the morning of April 29 was very unpleasant and disappointing. Our intentions were to experience comfort, safety, and convenience in a cabin at a pleasing and beautiful venue. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met satisfactorily.
Here is our reasoning for departing one day early and our overall dissatisfaction:
1. We were surprised to discover that the shower was unenclosed in a separate building; that should have been revealed in a better description of the cabin’s amenities to allow us to prepare accordingly.
2. We became suspect of the quality and safety of the electrical system in the cabin after observing one light fixture dangling by its wires in the main room, an uncovered light receptacle in the bedroom, the lights dimmed when running hot water in the bathroom and a warning not to run the AC and microwave at the same time. We avoided using the electric heater because of concern for our safety, thus it was too cool in the cabin for our comfort.
3. The dead bolt does not function (the bolt cannot be extended into the door jam when the door is shut) and the key that operates the dead bolt does not unlock the doorknob. Hence, we could not lock the cabin after we left for the day so we had to take many personal belongings with us r that day to prevent possible theft. Had we locked the doorknob from the inside upon leaving, we could not have reentered.
4. The surroundings are very unsightly. We observed piles of wood scraps, kayaks and other water equipment scattered about haphazardly, a discarded “Consolidated Nutrition” sign and several miscellaneous items slung beside the shower facility, junked vehicles, and a large area adjacent the dam that looked like it had been a strip mined and not reclaimed.
5. There is no end cap on the gutter over the steps into the cabin, hence gutter water hit us while entering and exiting the cabin.
6. The cabin bathroom door cannot be shut properly to ensure privacy.
We have other concerns about the cabin/property, but I have decided to list only these top six.
We are providing you these details in the hope that you can remedy at least some of these issues before other people reserve your cabin; other issues are more long-term endeavors. This cabin has great potential.

My husband and I brought our kids, 4, 9, & 13. We all had a blast! Even though we brought all of our stuff, they had everything you would ever need for fun! The pond is so clear and perfect for fishing and swimming. Don't let the cabin size be deceiving...you won't spend much time inside. The gazebo is so fun and beautiful! We finally have found our home away from home. We can't wait to go back!!!
We loved our stay away from the worries of our day to day lives. This place had everything for us to be able to enjoy our stay on the lake. This was exactly what we wanted.
My husband and I had a wonderful little weekend getaway! Perfect little cabin and pond, had a nice time fishing and just listening to the outdoor sounds. Loved our stay!
Booked the cabin for my boyfriend and I's anniversary. It was the perfect location. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The lake was amazing! They had everything you'd need there which was awesome. We enjoyed cooking over the fire and on the grill for our meals.
We would totally recommend this stay to anyone and everyone. We are already planning our next stay!!
This was a great experience. It was a nice little getaway from the kids with friends for a night. We loved kayaking on the ‘lake’ and the comfy fire pit area. Great set up!
This little cabin was so cute! Great spot for a quick getaway and some time outside! Location was very secluded but owners did great job with directions. Had some furry friend greeters that also kept us company. Nice spot for some fishing and a campfire! Would definitely visit again in summer with warmer weather.
We are a very close knit family, who loves to spend our time together down at the lake. Our lake is man made and only about 3 years old. If you don't see any of us down at the lake, you might see some of our furry friends. Our cats and dog like to come down an visit our guests. They are friendly and shouldn't cause you any trouble. Have any question, please message us! And we hope you enjoy your stay! :)
