A paradise of cypress and olive trees

In the hills of the Gallo Nero region, in the heart of Chianti, between Radda, Castellina, and Vagliagli, lies Podere Pornanino, an estate surrounded by 36 hectares of olive groves, wooded hills, and two small rivers.

The farmhouse’s main house and the two stone barns, Capannino and Leccino, have been restored and renovated to a high standard, all in the same warm and welcoming style.

Capannino features 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room with dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a covered terrace, and a private garden.
Upon entering the cottage, you’ll find a large, bright living room with a spacious dining area and a fully equipped open kitchen. A large arched glass door opens onto the covered terrace, where you can enjoy al fresco dining.
From the living room, a hallway leads to the two double bedrooms, which are located one above the other (note that the upper bedroom has no door but remains very private since the interior of the room is not visible; the upper bedroom can also be converted into twin beds); a bedroom-office; two bathrooms (one with a bathtub and shower, and a smaller one with a shower)
The terrace is furnished with a table and chairs for dining outdoors and lounge chairs for relaxing in the garden. The house has its own central heating system, window screens, a safe, satellite TV, a DVD player, high-speed internet/Wi-Fi, a hair dryer, a dishwasher, and a stereo with a CD player. You’ll enjoy a genuine stone house with modern amenities and antique family furniture, located on a large private estate with its own historic olive mill and surrounded by beautiful olive trees.

A beautifully maintained garden surrounds the houses. Nearby is the swimming pool (6 x 12 m) with a spacious sun deck, furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas. The pool is open from mid-May through the end of September and is shared by the guests staying in the houses and, occasionally, by our family.

There is a separate laundry room with a washing machine for the exclusive use of the guests.

Pornanino is accessible via 5 km of a very well-maintained unpaved road (strada bianca). The medieval town of Castellina in Chianti, with an excellent selection of restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops, a Coop supermarket, a post office, banks, and a variety of other shops, is 5 km away; Florence is 32 km away, and Siena is 18 km away. San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Arezzo, Cortona, and many other charming towns are easily accessible by car. The property is 9 km from Radda in Chianti, another beautiful hilltop medieval town with cobblestone streets and a good selection of restaurants and shops.

We accept only weekly reservations from Saturday to Saturday.
The local tourist tax will be charged upon arrival.
Heating costs are not included and are calculated separately based on usage.
