Looking for the perfect vacation spot? Greyson's Mermaid Cottage has it all! This unique, beautifully updated & decorated 2 story home on corner lot with lagoon view in the private neighborhood of Deer Lake on the wildlife haven, Fripp Island. Hardwood floors throughout.

Newly decorated master bedroom on main floor with large walk-in closet, plenty of storage, smart tv, and en-suite with jacuzzi tub and separate shower.

A wall of windows overlooking the lagoon, greets you as you enter the living room. This area has ample, comfortable seating that folds out to queen, full, & twin beds for extra sleeping, if needed. Brand new 60" smart TV, DVD player, and video library create a great spot for family fun!

Kitchen has quartz counter tops, bar, newer appliances, and large picture windows for wildlife viewing while preparing a meal. Eat dinner at the large bar height table as you gaze out the large picture windows at the lagoon and passing deer.

The main floor also includes 1/2 bath and washer dryer combo.

Upstairs bedrooms include one with queen bed, large closet, TV, and lagoon view. Third bedroom has full/twin bunk beds, large closet, and TV. Full bath upstairs and alcove area with seating and games for the kids. Second updated full bath easily accessible from both bedrooms.

The house is fully stocked with all the amenities of home and more. A starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, and soap is provided. Plenty of activities to keep the kids busy, like board games, a DVD library, and books for adults to enjoy as well. This is a great place to create those wonderful family memories.

Enjoy the new patio with plenty of seating, swing, fire pit, and Blackstone grill. Steps away from Deer Lakes private pool and playground. Pool is open May through October. Deer, birds, and alligators are regular visitors to the backyard and lagoon. Custom golf cart, bicycles, kayaks, Hunting Island State Park pass & more included with rental.

This will definitely be a house you'll want to vacation at again and again!

* Enjoy Fripp Island's 3 1/2 miles of pristine beaches, bike & walking paths, as well as Springtide Market that has a large menu at their walk up counter and a deli at the Marina as well.
* Fripp Island amenities cards not available & cannot be purchased at this time. Amenity cards are required for restaurants & club pools. Amenity cards are NOT needed for Deer Lake pool.

This cottage was BEAUTIFUL…so clean and nicely decorated! The homeowners, Julie and Steve, provided everything you could possibly need for the beach and your stay! Just as described. Gorgeous views from the wall of windows in the dining and living rooms! It was so quiet and peaceful just watching the wildlife…the deer would just walk up to you. Great cottage on a lovely island

The mermaid cottage is in a quiet neighborhood on Fripp Island just a short golf cart ride to the beach. Great kitchen and good lighting throughout. Excellent host who was quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend!

Great getaway home!

We stayed 1.5 weeks and had a terrific time! The house is immaculately clean and cozy. The Mermaid Cottage is on a private cul-de-sac overlooking a small lake. The owner, Julie, is very kind and gracious and her communications were always great. Thank you very much for a memorable getaway!

Quick getaway from Charleston

We came down for the long weekend from nearby Charleston. The house was wonderful and fit our needs perfectly with three kids. We did some biking and hiking over on nearby Hunting Island and made the quick trip into Beaufort for dinner. Thanks to the hosts who were great and we look forward to coming back for a full week in the summer months.

Great house, fantastic location

Our family has been coming to Fripp for almost 20 years, and this is one of the best homes that we've stayed. The owner was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to questions. Having access to the community pool, as well as a golf cart was fantastic, and the variety of bicycles with the house was great (we brought our bikes from home, but the house bikes were nicer than ours, so we rode those). We would definitely stay in this home again, as well as recommend to family and friends.

Beautiful beach time in SC

The house felt like home with all the amenities. Had a great time crusing around on the golf cart exploring. Our kids rented surfboards and learned about rip tides...they made it back :). A wonderful home and experience!!

We had an incredible vacation at Greyson's Mermaid Cottage in August 2023. Julie was super helpful while booking the stay and very accommodating to our travel plans. Our family, my husband and I and our two sons (ages 8 and 10), fell in love with Fripp Island and hope to return soon. The house is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We had an awesome time travelling around the island on the golf cart and enjoyed the community pool. The beaches are amazing and everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming. The perfect spot for a relaxing, peaceful vacation with family and/or friends!

Enjoyed our stay on Fripp Island

We love vacationing to Fripp Island and this was our 5th stay on the Island but 1st in this home. We fell in love with the home immediately. Beautiful decor, very clean, comfy furniture in the living area, nice fire pit outside making smores, enjoying the deer daily that came by to visit, golf cart, bicycles, all the beach accessories--so many amenities here at this house! The Owners were fabulous and answered my texts/calls immediately which is always nice. We difinitely will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was so clean. I am always prepared to clean a house myself to meet my own standards before bringing the kids in. I didn’t clean a single thing! Fripp Trip

We enjoyed our brief stay on Fripp Island. The house was clean and the owner very accessible and helpful. While it wasn’t in season, the neighborhood pool was across the street and the beach just a short golf cart ride away. We were staying on Fripp for the purpose of scouting property so most days we were busy with that. The one negative is the lack of good restaurants nearby. We cooked most meals in, as the house was fully stocked with kitchen items and also had a gas grill out back.

Loved our stay at Greyson's Mermaid Cottage

We loved our stay at Greyson's Mermaid Cottage and on Fripp Island. Visited for a week in early March. The weather was just right, the home is beautiful and is placed in a relaxing and comfortable location. We loved watching the wildlife in the backyard lagoon while we ate breakfast each morning. Fripp is conveniently located between Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC. We spent a day in downtown Savannah and two days in and around Charleston. There is plenty to do on Fripp Island as well. We explored Hunting Island State Park next door with trails, beaches, and a lighthouse. Our daily bike rides through the neighborhoods on Fripp were pleasant with plenty of sights to see, including King Arthur (large alligator) on the golf course. Plenty of beach access points and miles of beach to walk and enjoy. We enjoyed the southern cuisine and there are plenty of places to eat locally and at surrounding attractions. The owners are a pleasure to communicate with. Answered all my questions and were very responsive, friendly, and welcoming.

Mermaid Cottage Exceeded Our Expectations

When we pulled into Deerfield Court, we were immediately taken by the setting – a cluster of nice cottages set in palms, palmettos and live oak trees overlooking a small inlet. Mermaid Cottage stood out for its distinctive design and its fire pit surrounded by colorful Adirondack chairs. Upon entering the cottage, we realized that it was much bigger than we had expected from looking at the Vrbo photos. The spacious living room and dining room are complemented with 2 small seating areas just right for reading in the morning or afternoon sun. If the weather is fine, you might choose to sit on the small deck looking out on the inlet. It was nice to have so many choices. And the place was super clean! The kitchen with its big dining island has all the modern appliances you need for a delightful vacation. Since it is open to the dining room, it’s easy to get the food from the stove to the table. And, speaking of the table, it was one of our favorite pieces of furniture. It appears to have been made from an old, very solid, thick wooden door. The table and the stools are high giving diners a fine view of the inlet and surrounding vegetation out the expansive windows. We appreciated all the storage space in the dresser and walk-in closet in the master bedroom. The bed is comfortable, the room is quiet, and the whole setup is conducive to a good night’s sleep. The two upstairs bedrooms are fine for kids, or for family and friends who might be visiting. Our guests were very pleased with their accommodations. One of the most impressive things about Mermaid Cottage is the feeling of privacy afforded by the vegetation surrounding the house. When you’re in the cottage, most of the windows face greenery and the inlet. My wife said it made her feel like she was in a tree house. Even when you’re sitting around the fire pit, you are sheltered by palmettos though you will get occasional greetings from friendly folks walking by on the road. Of course, the Fripp Island setting of the Mermaid Cottage is just wonderful. The golf cart and the bicycles provided with the house make it easy and fun to explore your vacation home. The island is covered with walking/biking paths, and the beaches are marvelous. The large deer population on the island is fun to watch. I could go on, but I think my wife said it all when she told me that this was the first vacation home we had been to in the Beaufort area where she could easily spend a month or more.

Our family has been visiting Fripp for 15 years. This home was the cleanest and best equipped of any we have stayed at. We really enjoyed the extra items for the beach and using the kayaks.

Fantastic Location

We had an excellent stay at the Mermaid Cottage. The home itself is beautiful, well laid out, with good basic amenities (toaster, coffee pot etc). There is an adorable small balcony overlooking the lagoon. We loved standing out there and watching the fish jump, and an occasional alligator swim by. The provided golf course was fantastic. This is the main mode of transportation on the Island. During swimming season (Starts in May) you can literally walk diagonal from the property to a gorgeous pool, with an enclosed playground. The neighbors are super pleasant and friendly. The island itself is amazing. Literally on the Atlantic Ocean coast. An easy 5 minute golf cart ride and your at the beach. There are two public playgrounds to use during the winter season when the pool playground is closed. Just across the bridge is Hunting Island (owners provided a pass which was used many times). There are activities multiple times a day at Hunting Island, and amazing shark tooth and seashell hunting areas. The surrounding islands have so much to offer- Penn Center, Marine Corps Museum, Gullah culture, Maritime Museum, Kazoo factory and on and on. And the food! So many close local restaurants that don’t disappoint! Avoid “Another Slice” though, but definitely check out Barefoot Bubbas, Shrimp Shack, Beedos, and Lowcountry Cider (and coffee shop) to name just a few. And last but not least- the owners. We have never rented through VRBO from such amazing people. Personalized phone calls, check ins with activities happening during your trip, and following up after your stay. They easily helped problem solved with us, and made our stay very comfortable. You simply cannot go wrong staying at Fripp Island.

Perfect for a family retreat

This rental was absolutely perfect! The house was well furnished and equipped with everything we could imagine needing. The location was in a quiet neighborhood, so we didn't have to worry about traffic or noise. The owners were on top of everything and responded quickly with questions. They thought of everything.
