Nice stay walking distance to the lake & ice cream shop. Close to hiking in Wentworth state park & fishing in rivers. Plenty to do & keep everyone happy. Bristol is a great little town with a few good restaurants & shops to visit.
I've stayed at many other places that were considered super host but I would not consider this a one. The bed, for one was very uncomfortable, the pillows flat. There was a lot of things to us that were of poor quality. Bedroom door that doesn't fit the opening, blinds that don't open & close or even fit the window. Eating utensils underneath the sink. Needing to bring your own sheets and towels. Empty your own trash. The cleaning fee to me is a little high considering that there is nothing to clean
We had a nice stay at cottage six. Especially the living room and screened in porch were great places to spend time. The three bedrooms were sufficient and the beds comfortable. One bedroom, the one with the queen sized bed, is downstairs. The cottage has very much a cabin fe, with the upstairs rooms having curtains rather than doors. The kitchen is small, and there is no counterspace, which makes it a challenge to prepare meals, but we managed using the table. The cottage needs some extra shelves to store groceries and I believe that the owners are planning to add some.
The water access is a short walk away and you don’t have to cross any roads. The water in this area is shallow for a very long time. This is great for younger kids and the challenge if you want to swim. You cannot store any water vessels at the beach, you’d have to carry them from the cottage each day.
We enjoyed our stay.
The photos led us to expect more space inside and out, and we were surprised by the small size of the bathroom, bedrooms, and kitchen. This is definitely not a workable place for three couples to stay, especially if five of the six people are over six feet tall! That said, the cottage grew on me after a day or two, and even the traffic noise became less annoying. The screened-in porch is very nice, with a nice lawn and grassy bank below the road making up for the disappointment of not looking at the lake or mountains. It's actually impressive how many different houses and cottages are fitted into the little area of lakeshore, and once you've walked to the beach area and focus on the lake the view, cool clear water, and bit of sand are quite satisfactory. The interior walls are white and there's not a lot of visual clutter. Two suggested improvements are: screens on more of the windows (at least one per bedroom!) and a less sensitive smoke alarm.

Although the pictures and descriptions of the place were accurate, to me, they conveyed a much nicer environment. For instance, the picture of the row of cabins with their screened-in porches was cute, but rather than facing the lake, they faced the main N-S road in that part of the state so there was no water view at all. The main bedroom was only separated from the kitchen by a closet bi-fold door with no handles. The “air-conditioned” definition was one ancient and small window unit in the kitchen which provided no cooling unless one was standing directly in front of it. The pictures of the beach and walkway to it appeared much nicer than reality. Finally, although there was access to the water, between the cabin and the tiny, narrow beach were numerous other houses with cars and trucks park all around, detracting from the ambiance of the area. Just my opinion, but I would never give this listing the high ratings it has.

Hi Andrew,
I am sorry to hear this review. This is our largest cottage and great for family with children. I never intended for you to have the wrong impression. We offer our cottages at a low affordable price so that all can enjoy beautiful Newfound Lake. Our cleaning crew is 5 star and this cottage has a large screened porch for family dinners. A lot of waterfront cottages available for rent around the lake are triple the price or more!
Each year we add more and more amenities and we take our guest reviews and feedback seriously and will make changes with regard to the air conditioning / and other issues. We strive to make sure all have the best experience and stay with us!

This place was perfect.
I was alittle worried about it being too small but it was perfect for us. We loved the screened in porch and living room space. It was close enough g to all ourr hiking spots. Kangamangus, Mt Washington, gorge flume...thank you so much for the stay. Oh the sun sets at the lake were magnificent. I will definitely be back.
Communication with our host was easy through the Vrbo App. Having a dedicated parking lane when we pulled in helped identify where we needed to park. The carriage to bring items to cabin was appreciated. The key in the lock box was easy to access and the space was clean upon arrival. Lake access was great and the neighbors were friendly. Our kids enjoyed the private sleeping quarters in cabin 6 the adults liked the 1st floor master bedroom. Quarters were tight but the proximity to the lake, ice cream shop and horse shoe pit made us feel at home. We enjoyed our get away and will come back again. Thank you making our time at Newfound Lake enjoyable. We look forward to seeing the improvements in the WiFi when we return. Thanks again!
WE WERE FIRST OF SEASON , BUT A FEW BUG RESIDENTS WERE THERE TO SUPRISE US. THE BEACH ACCESS O.K.,B BUT VERY ROCKY TO GET TO SANDY BEACH. MY DAUGHTER AND MY 11 YR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER RENTED 2 KAYAKS FOR 2 DAYS. AND AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT SOMEONE LEFT NOTE NOT TO LEAVE THEM AT BCH. AREA. SO THEY HAD TO DRAG THEM BACK AND FORTH THE NEXT DAY. AND BEACH WASNT THAT CLOSE TO CAMP. I LOVE THIS AREA BUT WILL PROBABLY RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE NEXT TIME.
Good location close to all that Newfound has to offer. No frills, but clean and equipped. We enjoyed our stay and the owner was excellent with communication.
