A perfect cozy little cottage for a quiet, relaxing family get away! Lots of snow, so we had fun digging our way to the fire pit, making forts and sliding! If you’re looking for a place to disconnect, this is a great place to go.
Great cottage, beautiful view of the lake. Everything you need is on site. Only issue is there a big hill you have to go down at the entrance with your vehicle. In the winter it can be tricky getting back up especially with a trailer. Appart from that 5out of 5 would recommend.

Buyer Beware!!!
First thing to know is that this cottage does not have wifi or cellular service available!!!!!!! You can make a phone call but it will likely drop if you move.
I made the error of assuming that a place that listed a Smart TV would have to have wifi. The host notified me the day before our trip that there would be no WiFi, no firewood (found out that the place is heated by a combination of radiant and wood stove!) and we were “strongly encouraged” to bring our own linens…
So more glamping than cottaging.
The cottage is beautiful BUT everything we touched was broken! Fridge, dishes, glasses (a total of 4 juice glasses to drink from), dock, outside chair, furniture, etc, etc….
So although clean and with lots of potential…. The place is a dump!
Not worth the money or effort or time…..
Very, very disappointed!!

Avoid that place unless you can get it for max 200$ per-night
This cottage is overpriced.
- Fridge is rusted out on the exterior, two shelves in the door are holding with duct tape
- Stove is old and rusted. The plastic cover on the front is about to fall off.
- Couches are a disaster. One of them has a wooden log underneath to hold it together! The other one was very uncomfortable.
- The patio door screen is falling apart and again holding with duct tape.
- There is no Ladder on the dock so very inconvenient
- There are only 2 bedrooms and in one of them, the bed is directly on the floor.
- The 3rd bedroom 'master' with the two twin beds side by side is actually in a common open area so no privacy.
- There is no AC.
- The deck is rotten
- The chairs on the patio are in bad condition
- The exterior fireplace had only a few wet logs, almost unusable.
- No wood available for the interior fireplace.
- The place was not clean when we arrived. Dining table was dirty, utensil were disgusting and beds were not cleaned
- Some towels were dirty.
- No WIFI and very poor LTE reception
On the good side, the lake is nice and the location is quiet

Thanks for the review Nadine. Here are my responses...
This cottage is NOT overpriced - it is built on 1.2 acre land surrounded by thick forest. The extensive land offers privacy and away from noise pollution. This is a very unique cottage where it was recently built with logs. This is a water front property, we provide kayak and canoe for the guests to enjoy on the river.
Regarding the fridge and stove - it has a little bit of rust at the exterior(side). However both are still working fine. No body complained about the shelves. First time hearing about the broken shelves.
We recently upgrade the sofa to wooden frame with cushions to sit on. We have reinforced the sofa with a wooden log at the bottom.
The patio door screen - it was a brand new screen for this summer season, the guests just before you had damaged and we have notified VRBO about this damage. The cleaner fixed it temporary.
Ladder on the dock - We have the ladder, we did not install it this year because it was never used it in the past.
Bed does not sit on the floor. It has a low profile bedframe.
We never mentioned in our listing that there is an AC.
We have informed you in the check-in instruction to get your own wood. We never mentioned we will be providing any firewood.
We verified with my cleaner that she spent 3 hours cleaning the cottage before you had arrived. She also washed all the used towels and the bed linens after every guest turnover.
We never mentioned in our listing that there is a WIFI. Unfortunately this is not in our control, C-Tal the local internet provider is delaying the connection.
First you requested to extend your stay at our cottage. Then you posted this review, clearly you are contracting yourself. If the place was not good, then why did you ask to extend your stay?
The cottage was beautiful! (A little difficult to find - thanks to Google...haha!) But once we were there - it was a GREAT time for our family. The canoe and kayaks were so much fun! A great spot for a campfire at night. We fished right from the dock. And after a long day in the sun - the cottage was the perfect spot to just hang out and play cards/read books, etc. Great host - always available to answer questions.
