The place was great and the host was quick to respond with any question or assistance needed. The ducks at the pond were a very nice addition and fun to watch. However if you’re looking for truly secluded, this might not be the best place. The house sits on a driveway connecting other properties and cars go up and down often throughout the day. If you’re bringing a pet a couple of things to know; there’s not a whole lot of grass for a dog to go to the bathroom on if they’re picky about that and there’s only an inside trash can so there’s not really a place to throw away dog poop bags. Also if your dog gets riled up over cars coming by that’s definitely a factor. Lastly, if your dog can’t do a lot of stairs this might not be the place for them. They are covered in carpeted treads but they’re steep and narrow. If you have an older dog who doesn’t love cars driving by and/or you’re looking for a truly secluded spot, this might not be the place for you. Overall though, the house was very nice and a cozy stay and the host was more than helpful. We loved the gas fireplace, the pond/ducks and the porch for sitting outside.

We appreciate the feedback and are glad you found the cabin cozy and our communication helpful! Our property is designed to embrace a natural forest floor over manicured lawns—an environment our more active four-legged guests typically enjoy. While the driveway serves as the primary access for the property, most guests find the occasional movement a fair trade-off for the location.
Regarding the stairs, the carpeted treads provide extra traction, though we recognize every pet has its own level of athletic confidence. To maintain the natural beauty of the forest, we do not have permanent outdoor bins, but we make it a priority to offer on-demand trash and pet-waste pickup for our guests at any time—we are always happy to swing by so nothing has to stay inside the cabin.
We enjoyed our stay so much the first time we came back to stay again. It’s a great get away, very peaceful, and the hosts are great people. Looking forward to staying again in the near future.

Great location for exploring surrounding communities. Plenty to see and do. Great hosts! Lovely atmosphere. Area park’s outstanding. Very relaxed environment.
Loved our stay! Peaceful and had everything we needed. Super comfy bed too! Enjoyed our evening visits with the ducks while we made use of the rocking chairs on the front porch. A perfect getaway. Highly recommend!
Nice , cozy spot for a get away. Surprising number of vehicles coming and going from the property. enjoyed the porch and view of pond. Ducks really enjoy getting fed ! Convenient location to grocery, flat rock restaurants. great long weekend stay.

It was a pleasure having you Tom!
Your stay was during memorial day weekend which would explain the extra traffic. My apologies. We're glad you enjoyed your stay.
We had a great experience staying at The Barn. Ray and Shannon were great host and very friendly people. The check-in process was very easy and convenient. The house was very clean and cozy. The location was very close to some good hikes. The farm that it's on is also beautiful for exploring. There are trails that you can walk, and they have animals you can feed. Overall, a very good experience and we'll be coming back to stay again.
What a beautiful property! It was clean and inviting. You also have the welcome committee of ducks, who love to hang around. There’s enough on the property to keep you busy, but only a short drive into town for more! We explored the surrounding areas and enjoyed our time riding bikes through all of the connecting parks of Hendersonville. HenDough Chicken and Donuts is a must try!
Great weekend getaway! I really liked the location. It was close to stores and restaurants, but still felt like a remote cabin in the woods and was very quiet. We attended an arts and crafts festival in Saluda, then checked out a couple of breweries in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer. We enjoyed the friendly ducks (I fed them some crackers) and my boyfriend enjoyed fishing (catch and release) from the pond. I would totally recommend this place to other couples.
I love everything about The Barn!!! The hosts were extremely kind and hospitable. The cabin was squeaky clean and cozy. The front porch was my favorite…. Watching the deer and listening to the birds/crickets. Plus… The ducks have become family. :) The area surrounding the cabin was absolutely beautiful and so quiet. I can’t wait to come back!!!
Great property! Secluded and quiet yet close enough to get uber eats or run to the store. The house itself was super cute and cozy. Robert the duck is basically a local celebrity and we truly enjoyed his company as much as he enjoyed our crackers. Definitely plan to come back and stay here again! The owners of the property are super sweet, very available if you need anything, and helpful with finding local activities.

very quiet and off the main roads. property owners are very nice and live on site.
The cabin is very clean and comfortable. Slight mishap was addressed immediately and owners were very accommodating and polite. It’s not quite as private as we assumed based off the listing. I was surprised there was no stove, but that’s probably my fault, so plan to eat out for most meals. Proximity is very close to a lot of things so it really is a great getaway tucked in the middle of new adventures in all directions.

This guest never came for their stay. I'm unclear how someone can review with 1 star when they never came to the property.
