Thank you so much! We wish you could have stayed the rest of the week too. We’re delighted you had such a wonderful stay and would love to welcome you back anytime!
This fabulous log lodge was the perfect place for us to launch our Montana exploration! The big yard provided play space for the kids - thanks for providing the balls and bat! We enjoyed family dinners at the long dining table and the porches were so pleasant to either find solace or gather with others. We all highly recommend this lovely spot! (In fact, I have already recommended it to my best friend for her family!)

Thank you for this wonderful review—and for already recommending Walking Bear Lodge to your best friend! We love hearing that the children enjoyed the big yard and that your family made good use of the long dining table and porches for both gathering and quiet moments. It was a pleasure providing a home base for your Montana adventures, and we’d be delighted to welcome you back!
This property was perfectly set up for our family. We know from past experiences that 5 bathrooms is wonderful! The hot tub was used every night. Our grands range from 23 to 5 months - everyone enjoyed your cabin. The kitchen was perfectly stocked- the griddle was super handy for breakfasts. Luann was great to work with and always answered any questions. The location turned out to be perfect for the activities we had planned. We would definitely recommend this for other families.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted the lodge worked so well for your entire family—from your 5-month-old grandchild to your 23-year-old grandchild. It’s lovely to hear that the five bathrooms, well-stocked kitchen, breakfast griddle, and nightly hot-tub time made your stay comfortable. It was a pleasure helping with your questions, and we truly appreciate your recommendation to other families!
Great house, well supplied. Even had bear spray. They got the high chairs we needed and the pack and plays, and supplied fishing poles when requested. It’s a little further to Glacier NP than I was thinking but very convenient to airport.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We were thrilled to hear that your grandchildren caught their first fish during your stay—that's such a special memory, and we're honored to have played a small part in it. We're glad the house, high chairs, pack and plays, and fishing poles helped make your family trip comfortable and enjoyable. It was a pleasure hosting your family, and we'd love to welcome you back to Whitefish anytime!
The home was exactly as described on the listing and provided a wonderful place to call home during our trip to Montana and Glacier National Park. The location was great because it was only 10 minutes to the town of whitefish and 25 minutes to the west entrance of glacier national Park. The kitchen is fully stocked, the hot tub was great, and a nice yard for my kids to play in was ideal.I also felt the price was fair so all in all it was a great stay. We were blessed to be able to stay at this nice home for a week. Thank you!

Everything was as described and than some! Perfect size for our family of 16. A great hub for our winter vacation. Kitchen was stocked the best of any vrbo ive ever had. The host LuAnn was very accommodating.
Family Vacation- 16 people stayed, ages 12-75. This house was breathtaking on approach, it was everything it was described as and more. Such a beautiful home that met all of our needs. We enjoyed the outside of the house just as much as the inside. There were amble bedrooms, beds, and bathrooms, as well as a beautiful deck that gave you so many choices to do enjoy the outdoors. Kids played Cornhole, made smores, and even enjoyed the hot tub. The Grill worked great, and the kitchen had everything you could imagine. The second kitchen in the basement worked out great for extra cold storage to make lunches to take into the park daily. Double laundry facilities, one on the main floor and one in the basement was perfect. Plenty of seating to all eat together, as well as hosting nightly card games. We couldn't have asked for more! The other thing that stood out to us was the communication prior and during the stay. LuAnn was amazing to work with and we would not hesitate to stay again ! If you are looking for a the perfect place for a large group or even a small group, look no further. This is it! Loved it all!

When a wonderful family finds just the right place for their time together, it really is magical! We love welcoming all our guests, but there is something especially meaningful about hosting a multigenerational family vacation and seeing every generation—from children to grandparents—enjoy Walking Bear Lodge in their own way.
It makes me so happy to know that the spacious bedrooms, two kitchens, double laundry facilities, large gathering areas, deck, hot tub and outdoor spaces gave all 16 of you room to be comfortable, play together and share meals and card games. That is exactly what we hope to provide for families and large groups visiting Glacier National Park.
Thank you for your incredibly thoughtful review and for being such wonderful guests. I truly enjoyed helping with your family vacation, and I would be delighted to welcome you back to Montana!
All fine. Host stayed very responsive and answered any questions and was supportive when our flight out was cancelled. Pictures were accurate. It's a very nice place.

Thank you for your kind review. I’m so glad the home worked well for your stay and that everything matched what you expected from the photos. Travel plans don’t always cooperate, so I was happy to help when your flight was cancelled.
It was a pleasure hosting you, and I’m glad you were able to enjoy some time here in the Whitefish and Glacier area. You’re always welcome back anytime.
We loved our stay at this property. There were 11 members in our family and everyone had enough space to 'chill' and gather as a family. Games and outdoor sports items were available for the grandboys. We had one issue with the hot tub that was addressed immediately. The service and communication with LuAnn was wonderful . I would recommend this property to anyone with a large family. Little incidentals like paper towels, shampoo/bath wash, laundry detergent, dish soap, etc were provided on-site even though we supplied our own.The location was ideal for travel to Whitfish or Kiaspell and only 30 minutes from Glacier NP.We had a great week with our family.
It is a large log house that comfortably accommodates a large family. It is surrounded by nature - a unique experience. I found dozens of dead bugs on the floor. That could be remedied by someone inspecting the house before the guests' arrival.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and for staying with us.
We take great care in preparing the home for each arrival and will continue refining our inspection process.
We’re glad you enjoyed the space and the unique natural setting.
We got married in Glacier National Park and this home was perfect for our family and friends. Plenty of room, the fire & hot tub were added bonuses! Would definitely rent again!
Sixteen family members used Walking Bear as base camp for 10 days in NW Montana. Great location - easy to get to Whitefish, Kalispell, Big Fork, Flathead Lake, Whitefish Lake, and Glacier. House had just about everything we could have needed and the hot tube and large backyard were put to good use.

Why they chose this property
I have traveled across the country for years. looking a place that has it all .Whitefish, Montana isn't the only place where you can ski, golf , hike and fish but it is one of the only ones I know that you can do it all in the same day. It is the endless vacation. The summer days are so long that I often joke that it is hard to go to bed when you have to wear sun glasses. I dreamed of one day moving back to Lake Tahoe but when I found Whitefish it was still unspolied like I remember Lake Tahoe being years ago. The deal breaker for me was Glacier National Park. The last completely intact ecosystem. I believe that being connected to nature is essential to being healthy and happy. Be careful when you come here you just might not leave..I didn't.
What makes this property unique
When you come to Montana you want to wake up feeling like you are in Montana. If you want to wake up in a hotel room and eat at McDonalds you can do that any where. I wanted you to wake up and look out upon the fir trees and pines from your real log lodge. If you look, you can see Deer, moose and horses. The wild turkeys sometimes will wake you up with their morning stroll. At night, the howls of coyotes in the distance will sing you to sleep. You are close to everything. One of my goals was that you spend as little time in a car as possible. Most of the area attractions are 10-15 minutes at the most ,in your car. Glacier park is 30 minutes. To me it is the perfect place. Food shopping and getting all that may be necessary is only minutes away. I even have a chef that will prepare meals and leave them in the fridge so that all you have to do is play and relax. You can stroll the grounds in the evening and sit out by the firepit making smores feeling like you are in a commercial for the perfect vacation. You don't have to miss a single comfort of home. There is WiFi through out and plenty of space for your furry child (dog) to enjoy the vacation as much as you do.
