Peaceful place to stay . Really enjoyed the property
Entire place was clean, and the sheets/bedding didn’t smell weird as you might expect from a woodsy place. I picked this place because I’m not much of a tent or non-electric/bug-filled cabin type, and this was the perfect amount of rustic for us. The shower water pressure was good too!The owners were helpful and friendly when needed. They live next door. In the welcome book, they included directions to a secluded beach nearby that wasn’t on any GPS map I could find. It was a lovely small beach with a new playground and public beach toys. We only stopped by, though, since the beach didn’t allow dogs; instead, we ended up going to South Higgins State Park, which was nice too.In the backyard, there was plenty of firewood for memorable bonfires. Bring some cash for the firewood jar if you want. :) One night, we walked down the road to see lots of stars in the clear sky—which we don’t get to see in the suburbs.Although they had their own cornhole for guests to use, we hadn’t known and brought ours to play. We set it up, but that didn’t leave much room for other nets and games.Check out Hartwick Pines Park if you get a chance!Bring as much food from home as you can. For needed items, shop at Family Fare (though prices may be higher than at home). We also brought bottled water for drinking.
This cottage worked perfectly for us. It is very clean and comfortable. Location was quiet and private. Close to Roscommon and Higgins a lake. Our host was very accommodating. It is obvious they put a great effort to assure everything needed for a great stay is provided. We plan to stay there again next year.
Rented for a place to stay with my mom as my house is being built. It is very cozy, clean and neat. We will recommend this property to other friends and family that come up to visit
CUTE, CLEAN, HOME. SMALL BUT PERFECT SIZE, EVERYONE HAD A PLACE TO SLEEP. I LOVED THAT AFTER WE EXPLORED THE AREA WE COULD COME HOME AND HAVE A FIRE AND HAVE SMORES BEFORE BED! WEWILL KEEP THIS PLACE IN MIND IF WE COME BACK TO THE AREA!
If you’re into the outdoors this place is perfect! Located close to I75 and in the middle of state land for hunting, ORV, etc. I really appreciated all the extra that came with the cabin as well like coffee and what not, I would recommend to anybody!
This property was perfect for us. Our dog is terrified of fireworks so we were looking to get away to someplace quiet. It wasn’t fancy but extremely clean and had everything that we needed. We really enjoyed our fireworks free weekend!
Instead of a graduation party I took Emily away for the weekend. She had her choice and away is what she wanted. We had a great time and the owners dog Jones was a delight.
The description that it's not a place for a romantic getaway made me wonder if it would be a "poor" place to stay. I was very pleasantly pleased. It's quite secluded, which I liked because I had had trouble with other dogs and my own dog in the past. The cabin itself had everything I needed and more than I expected. I built a couple of fires and a couple of other nights I grilled with the provided charcoal and lighter fluid. Will definitely consider staying again.
I have nothing but good things to say about this cabin rental. Everything you want in a cabin for peace and quiet. Very clean, above and beyond for amenities. Provide charcoal grill with charcoal and starter fluid and firewood for fire pit if you need it. Wonderful, friendly neighbors hosts are very helpful if needed. Neighbors are really good about their dogs if you have one on the property. "Jones" is still my favorite 🐶
We will absolutely be back.
