A-Frame modern home located on hundreds of acres of protected wetlands privately accessed via the 250’ boardwalk from the house. Private dock on the Withlacoochee River backwaters access Rainbow River and Lake Rousseau from house by boat. Community boat ramp 3 doors down. 2 bedrooms 1.5 baths each has it’s own walk out deck. Hot tub on lower deck. No pets. 2 kayaks and a canoe. Leave no trace!

It’s 14 minutes to Rainbow Springs State Park, 23 minutes to Yankee town, and 45 minutes to Fort Island Gulf Beach.

Keep hot tub covered when not in use or subject to $50 fine per day.

The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, the kayaks and the river in the backyard was amazing. Matt was very responsive and helpful.

We loved our stay at the Riverfront Retreat! It was quite lovely to see the sunrise on the dock. We loved the riverwalk bridge and all the nature around. The hot tub was really pleasing. The darts and games were fun to play. The interior was clean and cozy. We’d definitely would come back!

A perfect mini getaway

This place was an outdoor lovers dream! My little family of 5 had the best time. 10 minutes from Rainbow Springs, secluded, close to Homosassa to see the manatees. My kids cried when it was time to leave!

Hidden Gem of Floridas True Nature

From stunning views on the boardwalk to dinner at Swampys, incredible. 10- 15 minute drive to Rainbow Spring State Park. The AFrame cabin was exactly what my Husband and I were looking for. Nature and peace. We will be back.

Relaxing Getaway

This house has everything you need. A beautiful sunrise in the morning on the most private dock. This is a nature lovers dream. Watching the wildlife early in the morning was the best. Kayaks are an added bonus! The hot tub was perfect in the evening. Although we didn’t use it, the fire pit on the dock would be awesome to sit by in the evening. Next time!

Breathtaking

We really enjoyed Matt’s place. The view from the dock was beautiful and very peaceful. The house was very clean, and had everything that we needed. We played board games, went fishing, kayaking, and enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. We will definitely come back if we are in the area.

Most Beautiful Rental

This place was more beautiful than I expected. There were sooo many binoculars to view wildlife from the board walk and plenty of kayaks. Lots of birding books. My friends are mostly wildlife biologists, so this was truly a dream. This was my favorite place I've ever rented and I hope to come back in the future.

It said it sleeps 14. There is only two bunk beds and the rest are uncomfortable air mattresses. The bunk beds sheets had stains on them. Besides that the house is clean. It was a little weird that our water and electric were being ran to an RV next door pretty sure the owner is staying in there. Felt like we were being watched the entire time but the owner is nice.

There is not an rv on the property but there is one on the adjacent neighboring lot. Guests privacy is respected and the property has no shared space. I actually have had groups of 14 stay happily but it is up to them to figure it out above the beds provided which sleep 10 plus the couch. Sheets are always washed and replaced between guests. It’s too bad Aaron is so critical and missed out on enjoying the property for what it is which is pretty special with amazing sunrise views on the dock nestled in nature.

Relaxing beauty

Filled with character and beauty inside and out. The walk to the water on the boardwalk over the natural setting was a treat in itself but when we arrived to the end- chairs, sun umbrella and a small fire place were a welcome site. Dont forget the hammocks everywhere. I dont know anything in area. We never left the property.

Husband and I came to fish. Cold snap hurt fishing but we had a great time. House was very clean. Parking was able to accommodate one boat. There is only dorm/mini fridges provided so ice has to be purchased daily. We would stay again.

We were looking for a place to unplug AND THIS WAS THE PERFECT PLACE!! Our kids cried when it was time to go! They loved the morning and evening trips out to the dock. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets! It was a great place and the kitchen had everything we needed! The hot tub was a nice added touch too. We relaxed, played board games, and really unplugged. We fished off the dock and our daughter caught a bass! (We put him back) We saw so much wildlife!! It was exactly what we needed! Thank you so much! Also, we were a close drive to the river and all the popular things to see! Would love to come back! Communication with Matt was superb! He answered every question very quickly! Thank you Matt for a great 3 days stay!!!

A Frame review

Interior of property was lovely and well maintained and clean. Upstairs bedroom door was in need of repair to be able to lock it. Downstairs bathroom door needs to be lifted or shaved at bottom to avoid hitting tile floor upon opening. Exterior of property does need some TLC, and with a little bit of work, would match the interior. Instructions for cable/wife setup would have been useful, although we eventually figured out the remotes. Neighborhood was a bit sketchy; however, we had no issues with anyone.

Hello! Glad you enjoyed your stay. While I appreciate your review it seems a bit nitpicky. Yes keeping up with 500’ of decking and boardwalks in the swamp is a lot. There are a couple minor things need to handle you pointed out. A recent guest broke the door you may have noticed the new one under the bed to replace it. The samsung tv is very easy to use and the sound bar. And the wifi information is in the communicated welcome message. I wish you had communicated your concerns so I could have remedied. But can’t make everyone happy. The property is a very unique place hopefully others will see it and appreciate rather than find things to complain about. You’ll enjoy the trip more with that attitude :). The neighborhood is made up of mostly retired wonderful older people on golf carts and the boat basin is 3 lots over with a beautiful dock. There is nothing sketch about our neighborhood. Nonetheless thanks for the feedback.

It was ok, not perfect !

We stayed at Matt's house for 3 nights. 3 adults and 4 kids. House is a little tight with no master bedroom/bathroom. We had a bad start since the sink in the kitchen had a leak and the dishwasher door was not working. Matt was nice enough to come the next day and replace it. Hot tub was not working. There is no internet but there is tons of DVDs to watch. There is tons of wasps. Rainbow river was fun and we had a good time.

Great Dock and Paddling!

So I loved loved loved the dock and the kayaking. And if I'd been there to fish, I would have loved that. If my kids had been with me they would have spent all day out on kayaks. My wife and I spent most of our time there on the dock or out in the swamp. The downfalls were the cleanliness of the hottub and deck. They were dirty. My wife felt uncomfortable and it had been our 18th anniversary trip. They had 2 small refrigerators and 1 didn't work, so we had to store things in coolers. It was dark and closed in feeling inside the house. We didn't enjoy the romance and cooking together that I'd hoped for. Plusses... The location and the dock cannot be beat Minuses... darker interior and cleanliness of the deck area.

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry one of the fridges broke during your stay. It is now replaced and upgraded to a full size. Also there are coolers available for food storage as well. The deck has leaves sometimes it is 300’ plus the house deck and needs constant upkeep and I provide a nice broom sweep for guests if they need it. It is an amazing cabin on thousands of acres of wetlands. There is sufficient lighting for all your cooking and living needs and tons of windows. If you didn’t enjoy your stay it is sad on your part. Happy to accommodate gracious and happy guests. This is a nature getaway and one of a kind.

Backwater Paradise

This little slice of heaven was a perfect little picturesque getaway. Matt had set up the property with great planning to guest enjoyment in mind. The little details were adorably thoughtful, like the telescope and binoculars, the board games and activities strategically placed inside and out, to the maps of local lakes and estuaries, to the bird identification posters. It was a dream, and I will absolutely be back!

Labor day weekend

The path to the front door was covered with grass and mod not easy to walk around it. The pictures of the house don't really show how tiny the place is for 12 people, really no space for a full-size air bed. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils and pots except for the refrigerator, 2 small fridges like college dorms fridges. roaches in the kitchen and bathrooms. The sofa in the living was dirty between the couches and for the outside wasp nets were everywhere and for the final touch the water was shut off around 9 am the day of the checkout. Sorry but I need to be honest with the review so when a guest arrives know exactly what you are getting into. The house is good for a small family definitely not for more than 8 adults.

The well broke day of your checkout. You didn’t notify me. Thankfully I got a company to fix it on a Sunday for the next guest checkin. The home has 2 bunk beds, 4 twin air mattresses, and a sectional couch. We do not advertise a full size air mattress anywhere. The bunk beds can sleep 6 alone. The number of sleepers depends on how many are kids vs adults. The fridges are shown in the pictures. It is a quaint A Frame vacation house. Have since upgraded the fridge to standard size.

Such a nice kid friendly place!

Our little family enjoyed staying here so much! Everything was so neat and clean. Our kids loved it because it was so kid friendly! Such a peaceful get away! Would definitely love to come back to stay again!
