About the host
Hosted by Theresa Caviness
World traveler. Lived in Europe for several years, where my husband was an executive working for a multi-national company. We first lived in the city of Liège, Belgium, only a few minutes from Maastricht, Holland and Aix les Bains or Aachen, as it is called in German. Both ancient and beautiful cities closely connected with Emperor Charlemagne as the seat of the Holy Roman Empire in the Middle Ages. Last residence in the Continent was in a beautiful hamlet outside Paris where many Parisians own vacation homes. That magical place is surrounded by one after another beautiful villages such as Enghien les Bains, famous for its thermal baths ( they have great cheesemongers and bread-makers too!); Meaux, famous for its Brie cheese manufacturing; Montmorency, the place that gave its name to the cherries that make the ultimate cherry pies; Auvers sur Oise, the place where Vincent Van Gogh lived and died; by Chantilly and the famous race track of the same name; and by many castles, on one of whose grounds we owned a house! After our return to the States we were also fortunate to live in beautiful places such as Newport Beach, Mission Viejo, Santa Barbara, and the Eastern mountains overlooking the Salt Lake City Valley, only a few minutes from every ski resort. Now, we are in happy residence in the heart of the wine country, where we own a long established business; a pioneer in the wine industry (founded in 1966), that supplies winemaking, distillery and brewery equipment to hundreds of customers, not only in the valley, but all over the US, and various other countries of the world. Love this place also, it's as close to paradise as anyone could imagine, and I am sure our guests will find it equally as beautiful when they visit!
Why they chose this property
Beautiful. Spotless. No fuss. No maintenance or upkeep surprises. Quiet and picturesque location that is just minutes from world class wineries and vineyards.
