The double balcony ocean views allow you to enjoy the island's ties to the sea. Here you are surrounded by world-class fishing, scuba diving and every water activity imaginable!

All the modern conveniences and comforts of your home with the views and charm of a cozy beach cottage. The two bedroom, two bath condo is equipped with high-speed WiFi, cable, a 65 inch tv, sofa bed and en suite washer and dryer. Cook your fresh catch in the fully stocked kitchen that includes a complete cookware set, coffee maker, toaster, knives, cutting boards and dishwasher to help you clean up and get back on the water!

Boat ramp and marina
Onsite boat ramp, trailer parking and marina slips are available for boats up to ~28’’. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED IN ADVANCE at an additional fee and must be done through

The condo was GORGEOUS. The furnishings were tasteful, comfortable, clean and functional. They truly thought of everything in terms of stocking the unit. Plenty of nice towels for bath and beach, trial sized toiletries, hair dryers, a cooler, appliances, dishes, utensils… Very communicative and responsive. Check in was a breeze. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Amazing experience

Jake and Michelle were great host! Always responsive and easy to talk to. Condo was above and beyond with cleanliness and all of our needs as a family of four. We brought our boat and having a boat ramp and safe boat slips on property is important in the keys. We will be coming back soon!

Just what we needed to recharge

First time to Tavernier for a couple’s getaway. The unit was beautifully furnished, great views of the peaceful water and boats anchored off the coast. We could catch both the sun rise and colors of the sunset from the balcony. Great welcome packet with recommendations ranging from groceries to restaurants, all of which were spot on, and made planning outings easy. Neighbors were courteous and quiet. The beach and docks were well maintained and during one walk we saw a manatee sunning in the dock basin. The area of Tavernier had a good vibe and was a fun mix of new vs established businesses as well as parks. We rented e-bikes and explored Key Largo one day and Islamorada the next. Jake and Michelle were excellent communicators and hosts. Would definitely book here again

Family Vacation

The rental is just lovely and well furnished. The property is compromised of several buildings. The overall property was a bit larger than I expected but it has 24 hour security which is nice. We wish the Cafe and pool bar had been open as those were selling points for us and would have made our stay more enjoyable. The hosts Michelle and Jake were amazing and helpful!! Thank you for having such a well kept and cozy home for our vacation! Michelle and Family

Perfect Location!

The property was very clean and well kept, the owners clearly thought out every aspect of the guest experience. We did not have a single thought as to "wish they had that" or "they should have done this". The views from the master and the living area were fantastic, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and overall the entire condo was a pleasure to stay in. Go south and you're in Islamorada in 10 minutes, go north and you're in Key Largo in about 15 minutes. What more could you ask for!

Great value; fit a small manual wheelchair

Beautiful clean condo and terrific ocean views. We checked in late because of a delayed flight but it was still easy and seamless to get our parking pass. We had quick access to shopping and restaurants. We loved being in the Upper Keys so we could go north to the Everglades or south to beaches and other sights. There was a large, very nice pool and hot tub on-site. The pizza food truck was a fun addition. Landscaping was pretty and the entire property was clean. The condo itself had some great extras. We used the beach wagon and cooler several times. I’ve never slept so well on a vacation, great bed! The condo was a bit tight for a family of 5 using the sofa bed but it worked. We just put the sofa bed away every morning. There was some maintenance and painting ongoing. The hosts did notify us, which we appreciated. They were very easy to communicate with. It was inconvenient for that day to have the elevator out of service mostly because our son uses a manual wheelchair. (The condo was zero-entry with elevator access and a low tub in the bathroom.) However no elevator the morning after arrival meant we carried him and all our groceries 3 floors. Not ideal, but manageable. Heads up, you need to wash/dry your own beach towels upon departure. It was a surprise to us this morning when reviewing checkout requirements. We would recommend Castaway Key based on quality, affordability, and overall incredible value.

Amazing stay and great location!

Castaway Key was an amazing property and a great escape for our July 4th get away. The condo was very well equipped, spacious and was in a great location facing the atlantic side of Tavernier. We even utilized the marina which was a short walk from the condo. We will definitely be returning for our next adventure!!
