This was a wonderful place to stay while visiting mammoth cave. Myself and my boyfriend stayed here and we loved it. It is quiet and peaceful while still being close to Mammoth Cave. We also loved the town, it has a cute coffee shop just up the street from this place and many small, local places to eat. We went to Cave City to see some things and we drove away feeling so happy we stayed here instead of a hotel in Cave City. This place was like a little oasis and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area, especially while visiting Mammoth Cave. Communicating with the host was fast and easy and the place was very clean.
This was a very comfortable apartment. In a quiet, small town near Mammoth Cave. Bowling Green is a short drive through the country. Host was responsive and check in was a breeze. Very comfy bed as well.
Stayed here for a weekend trip at mammoth cave, and it was perfect. Bed was so comfy, especially after cave hiking, and the amenities were clean and just what was needed. Super quiet and just the right size. Could not hear the neighbors in the Vrbo next to us. About 20 minutes from the visitor center at mammoth cave (where tours start) and no ferry needed! Only down side was it was a little difficult to find, but I blame that partly on the fact that we got there after dark in pretty heavy rain. Check in and out directions were easy and communicated early. Would stay here again!
Our son got married in Smiths Grove and with very few hotel options nearby, we found this VRBO luckily. It provided exactly what we needed. Super clean, quiet and safe. The bed was very comfortable. The owner was exceptionally responsive to questions. I would definitely recommend this place!
Location was central to the mammoth caves and Nolan lake and a short drive to the lost river cave for a boat tour. Small local restaurants were convenient and good fo. The people were so friendly!
The room was perfect and cozy! The bed was comfortable and the whole stay was enjoyable and peaceful! The host were very friendly and helpful!
We spent two nights at this unit. It was very quiet and relaxing. It was close to the Mammoth caves that we went to. About a 20 minute drive to the visitors centre. The countryside is beautiful. The unit is very clean and nicely decorated. The bed is comfy. I would recommend this unit.
What a lovely and relaxing place to come home to after a day of hiking/caving. This one room sanctuary is just as pictured. It was big enough but cozy. There are few restaurants in Brownsville (and one great grocery store that closes at 7PM) so you need to come stocked (or plan to go to Bowling Green KY for meals). The condo comes with a small fridge and a microwave. (A toaster oven would be a great addition). The backyard is a private sitting space - lovely and comfortable. The bed was comfy! A perfect hideaway for 1 or 2 adults.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this quiet, studio apartment. The place was very clean and all basic amenities were provided (towels, sheets, pillows, etc.). The bed was the typical memory foam-type mattress that most rentals have these day, and was comfortable. Keep in mind that the mini-fridge is truly just a fridge, no little freezer compartment. The location of the rental was right off Main Street, Brownsville, but it is tucked behind a much larger building, so you don't hear the traffic when inside the rental. There is a small, fenced in yard with a grill and patio furniture. It is accessed via a gate immediately off where you will park. I came for the Mammoth Cave tours and other local hiking. It was an easy 20 minute drive to Mammoth Cave National Park. It was about 30 minutes from Bowling Green.
Had a very good time in the small little town of Brownsville! Out of the way of any big city, but easy enough to get to Bowling Green or Mammoth Cave National Park and short enough drives to Elizabethtown and Louisville. Enjoyed our stay at the nice little apartment. Had all the amenities that we needed. Also, recommend eating at PJ's Cafe! So if you're looking for a nice place to stay close enough to Bowling Green or the National Park, definitely book the Hickory & Bee.
Enjoyed our brief stay at the Hickory & Bee! We didn't spend much time there, but everything was clean and decorated nicely. Bed was a little soft for my taste, but that's a personal preference. Overall, well worth the money spent.
The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Check-in was super easy, and the host responded quickly and professionally. Highly recommend.
