This spacious 3 Bedroom, 3 Bath home is a great spot for a couples retreat, family vacation getaway, or a spacious date night for you and your significant other. Located .8 miles from downtown South Haven MI. Getting downtown is an easy walk, or a quick car ride for shopping & food. South Haven also has many public beaches. Nearby you will find wineries, orchards, antique shops, golf courses, breweries, and much more.
The Space:
There are three bedrooms. Two upstairs and one on the main floor. There are two living rooms each have couches that also pull out into a queen size. (Main living room & second family room NOTE: this room is more of a three seasons space, although it is heated and A/C, during the winter it can get cold. Just keep that in mind for sleeping). All linens/bedding are provided for your stay. We also have a few beach towels if you forgot one. There are white noise machines in each bedroom as well as near pull out couches for your comfort. We provide a box fan as well.
There are also three bathrooms. The master bath has a walk in dual shower. The second upstairs bath has a shower stall. The main level bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and shower combo. All bathrooms have shampoo, body wash, & conditioner for your use. We also provide towels for each guest along with makeup towels, washcloths, hand towels, and robes for you to enjoy. We have toothbrushes and toothpaste just in case you forget.
There are two family areas. The main living room is large and has a 65" smart TV for days inside. Snuggle up during the cool months by the gas fireplace warmth for a movie or family game night. We have a large selection of DVD's/Board Games to enjoy use if you wish.
The second family room is entirely wood knotty pine giving you that cottage feel. There is another smart tv in there.
The kitchen is fully appointed. We have a ton of pots and pans, glasses, plates, bowls, silverware, etc. There are spices and some baking needs if you forget something. We have a drip coffee pot and tea kettle. We provide a starter pack of coffee, tea, and creamers. We provide paper towel, garbage bags, dishwasher tabs, dish soap, and sponges. There is a large table with seating for family meals. For outdoor dining there is a backyard patio with a propane grill.
Outdoor: The front porch is a great place to set with a loveseat and two chairs. The backyard has a patio area, deck off the kitchen, firepit, propane grill all for your use. We have restored a 1955 Chris Craft boat and put in the backyard where the deck attaches to the boat as a dock. Kids & families are welcome to explore the boat, take photos, or pretend drive. At night the boat will light up and the dock lights come on.
Guest Access:
Guest have access to the entire home, front yard and porch as well as the backyard and patio area. The Garage is locked as we use it for our storage area.
Parking in driveway for up to 4 vehicles (they have to be end to end to fit) or there is parking in the street right in front of the house.
Getting to downtown is a short walk or quick car ride. Town is .8 miles and the beach is .9 miles. About the host
Hosted by Justin Steele

We are Justin & Katie Steele. My wife and I have two kids. Kaydence and Amelia, or we like to call her Millie. We have been coming to South Haven for many years as children ourselves years ago to here as young adults to now bringing our children here to swim, enjoy many dinners downtown or in our backyard, go boating, and best of all check out the vast views and sunsets of Lake Michigan.
We purchased this home early in 2021 to have as a family. With intentions to build many memories in this home but also enjoy sharing it with other families to make memories as well. We started with a rough idea of what we wanted the home to look and feel like as we purchased it. It needed quite a bit of help. We dove head first into project after project. My wife and I on weekends plus a valuable grandma and grandpa watching kids. Many nights we crawled out of there at 8-9 pm backs hurting and sore feet. Run downtown for a quick bite and get to bed to start work the next day. We tiled the kitchen backsplash, very first attempt at tile..lol. Painted every room, had gallons of paint spill. Pipes burst, drains clogged, drywall cracked you name it..it happened. We made it through and are very excited about the renovations and many memories to come.

Why they chose this property
We love older homes #1 and #2 the bedrooms and bath are nice to have 3 of each. This home was built in 1940 and has been added onto a few times as I can see. I believe the original home to just be the main door half the living room and the one bath downstairs. It originally was very small in 1940.
What makes this property unique
We really enjoy the large front porch for viewing and the privacy in the back. The walk in shower is a great add on to the upstairs bedroom. Its very spacious in there. The backyard boat is the only space that we know of in town that you can explore a 1955 Chris Craft Sea Skiff.
