Cozy Historic Beach House only Steps Away from Beach and Fishing Pier!

This well-equipped, historic 2 bed/1 bath house has semi-private beach access on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and is located next to the Ocean View Fishing Pier and rooftop bar and grill!
It is about 1000 square feet in size, and has 1 queen size bed, 2 twin size beds, and a queen sofa bed in the living room. Fast WiFi, 50” smart TV in the living room and 40" smart TV in the main bedroom. Window AC units for air conditioning and each room is heated with thermostat controlled infrared units. It is within close driving proximity to Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Chic's Beach, Downtown Norfolk, Old Dominion University, and Christopher Newport University.
The house sits only about 100 feet away from the beach, with a short path from your backyard past my other rental house to access the beach. There are no steep dunes or stairways to navigate, no streets to cross, and the access is not shared with the public.
Housebroken and well-behaved pets are allowed with payment of the pet fee. This property will be deep cleaned and sanitized between every reservation. This is a recently acquired property and will be continually improved with summer profits.

Bare bones, not the cleanest place. Queen mattress was not comfortable, and the bedroom is right next to a main road so we didn’t sleep well here. Water was hot which was a plus, but no hair dryer. Communication with property manager was iffy, took a while to respond if at all. When we got in, the designated parking spots were all blocked, which could be an issue for someone who isn’t familiar with the area. Overall convenient for two nights as it’s close to interstate, but wouldn’t stay again.

The place was clean and well kept, the building is starting to show its age, and needs a few maintenance items like weather stripping, to help with the wind off the ocean. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Wonderful getaway

This was a wonderful little getaway for us. Even with the unusually high winds, we had a great time in this cute house which had everything we needed (perhaps bring paper towels?). We had great direct beach access and wish the pier bar & grill had been open for the season! We will be back. Great location to nearby restaurants, and no wifi concerns. Parking was easy!

I rented this house for myself and my cousin. Location for fishing was great. Right next to the pier. Short walk. I wouldn’t recommend the pier restaurant. Food was ok but the service was terrible. The pier was great.

Easy access to the beach

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It is not on the beach but it is steps away from the beach. There is no beach view from the property. However, the rental allows parking and easy access to the beach. George was very responsive. We enjoyed our stay.

I began refurbishing the historic homes of Ocean View into nightly rentals in 2017 while studying mechanical engineering at ODU. I was at first unenthused with the vacation rental prospect, until I received my first thank you note and glowing review. The sense of reward while reading that Louis and his family from Germany had the vacation of a lifetime in the apartment I provided was overwhelming. It quickly became a full-time enterprise, and I now take pride in bringing this historic beach community back to life with updated vacation rentals. My other business pursuits include automotive restoration, luxury car rentals, and tactical sporting goods supply. When I'm not working, I enjoy fishing and exploring with my 6 year old daughter.
