We had an excellent time at the house. The kids had a blast swimming and fishing from the dock. The driveway is very steep and not for nervous drivers, but luckily we had confident drivers. The house was “surface” clean, (clean bathrooms, clean beds, etc) but could really use a deep clean—Dust and debris in cabinets, drawers, under furniture and in corners. One unexpected situation was the bedroom setup. The three bedrooms on the first floor are right off the kitchen and share one bathroom. It was okay for us since we were family, but might be awkward for three unrelated couples. The basement bunk room has a low ceiling, so the top bunks would be tight for an adult. The top bunks also don’t have safety rails so we didn’t let our youngest sleep up there in fear he would fall out. There is a bathroom in the basement so the kids had their own bathroom. There were only 3 kids, so some of the 6 adults would use that shower at busy times. Kitchen had everything you need to cook meals, but the dining table only seats 6, so we had to have a couple of people eat at the counter. Overall, these little things didn’t ruin our stay and we had a fun week.
