Good place to stay at, very fun and had a nice time with me and my Family I would recomend for anyone trying to stay here in Durango. My kids and nephews had a blast in the jacuzzi.
Perfect weekend getaway for a group of friends that love to visit while enjoying the river. This spot was great! Short walk to a perfect place on the Frio. Owners were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Oh and the cowboy pool was a bonus! We will definitely come back!
We stayed while celebrating family graduates. Very close to the water and an easy walk, clean, and everything we needed was provided. It was a quiet area, but not too far from stores and restaurants, etc. We enjoyed it!
The Bunkhouse is a nice place to stay on the Frio. The flow rate was 9’ which isn’t a lot for tubing but there was water here to hang out in. Nice and friendly owners on the property!
It was very relaxing stay at the Bunk House. The home was very clean and cozy. All the necessary amenities and then some. Definitely, a great experience.
Great place clean and very accommodating, grills for food fire pit games and kitchen utensils. Just like home. Thank you so much Downums! Will do it again!
We’ve been to the frio a million times but I think we’ve found our new go to spot. The close river access was perfect and the rope swing was so fun! Cabin has everything, from chairs, canopy, cooking supplies, s’mores skewers…etc.. Host didn’t miss a thing! Can’t wait to come back.
We loved our stay at this little bunkhouse. The river is a minute or two down hill. The kitchen had everything we needed & I used the charcoal grill several times. The cabin is just a short drive from Garner State Park & Lost Maples.
We spent Easter at this location. The rental was clean and had all the supplies we needed. The AC broke, however the host promptly put in new AC. The rental was close to the Frio River, maybe a 5 minute walk. There was a nice porch and yard.
The house was fantastic for our family of four. House was very comfortable and made us feel at home. Property owners were very helpful and came over to introduce themselves and answer any questions we had. Incredible to have a very short walk to one of the best swimming holes on the Frio River. Kids had a blast with the tree swing and jumping into the refreshing, crystal clear water. We will be back!
Our family just got back from this rental. It was such a great location for access to the Frio and the surrounding areas.
The walk to a shady river spot really is only a couple of minutes. The house had plenty of camping chairs available for use, and was stocked for cooking with sugar, spices, and all the utensils of a typical family kitchen.
The a/c blows good and cold; while the grill outside is ready to go for burgers or anything else you want to grill.
We would definitely return!
Host was very responsive. Property was clean and just as described. Right off a paved road and a short walk to the Frio River. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The only thing missing was a colander, but we made do. We never turned on the TV, so can’t report on it. No hairdryer although listed as an amenity. The outdoor space was great with both a propane and wood grill, all the grilling utensils needed, and a fire pit complete with stainless sticks for roasting marshmallows or hot dogs. Couldn’t ask for a better location for riding the “Three Sisters” and hiking in Lost Maples Natural Area. Great stay overall!
The location and spot on the frio was perfect for my friend and I and our young sons, 5yo and 8yo. The boys loved to fish with nets and swim while we relaxed and swam with them. The house was fine, clean fresh towels and sheets, but bed was pretty hard. The covered porch was spacious and the owners were so nice and helpful, and at the same time respected our space. We plan to come back!
The cottage was very clean and cozy. Perfect for 4 adults. Jane was a great host, and communicated with us throughout our stay. Location is perfect, a walk to the frio and close to the center of town. Would stay here again for sure!
