Clean and convenient

Great location for family vacation. Close to beaches, restaurants and shops. Clean and safe location. Furnishings are a bit spartan, but a nice kitchen. Property management was very good and professional.

We were able to have an early check-in, which was fantastic and the fresh fruit on the counter felt so welcoming! We enjoyed the house, the location and the pool! We were close to the grocery store, great restaurants and of course, the beach which we loved! We felt safe and prepared with flashlights when the power went out (often).

Highly Recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was cleaner than expected, had all the amenities we needed, air con worked well, the pool was so nice to have (and clean!), it was perfect. Communication with Osa Property Management was top notch leading up to the stay and during the stay. I would absolutely stay here and/or in other homes offered by OPM again.

Great home base for our vacation!

We loved the house! Incredibly clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for the week. The A/C and pool were key to keeping our temperatures in check during the hot humid weather this week. The location was fine but would have been nice to be able to walk into the main part of town, but seemed none of the roads went through and the area down by the beach is very muddy and overgrown during the rainy season. Also several of the businesses down by Playa Chamán weren’t open due to the low season, so we didn’t have as many options as we’d expected. However those that were open were great (La Choza, La Colonia, Mareas market). Loved that they had ample beach and bath towels and beach chairs for our use at the house. The washer/dryer worked great as well, which was so nice to keep up with dirty beach towels. We also loved the tours that our host set up for us- Isla de Cano and Uvita paradise zip lines and waterfall tour. We did a wonderful surf lesson with ColoTico surfing as well.

Perfect Stay

Great home. Walkable to a few good restaurants and the beach. Construction next door took away from the daytime relaxation. They were metal framing the entire stay but we found ways to work around it.

Not what we expected

The house itself was ok. There was only place to eat for 3 people which was a problem for us as a family of 4. But it was quite well equipped. It was more than a 5 minute walk to the beach but it was convenient to many places in Uvita. Our biggest problem was with the property management company. They were absolutely unresponsive to problems we had and when/if they did respond it was to let us know that nobody else had problems so it must have been just us. The master bath has some plumbing issues - standing water, immensely slow shower drain and as a result there was a massive mosquito infestation in the master bath. We killed a minimum of 30-40 mosquitos in the bathroom on a daily basis. We reached out to property management to let them know and never heard back. If I could offer advice, find a different management company to use that may be actually respond to issues.

Nadine, We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We would also like to to address your statement about the response time from Osa Property Management. When you contacted us about how your son was bitten by a spider on tour, we immediately sent you the location of the nearest medical center in relation to where you were. In addition, we asked if there was anything else we could do to help. We told you, "Call us if you need help on translation" [hospital] and you responded, "Great." Regarding the mosquito issue: You contacted us on Sunday, December 26, at 5:27 pm and we responded at 5:52 pm. That evening (the same day - within hours of being contacted by you) a Property Manager visited the property to ascertain the situation and to resolve it. After the property manager left, you never contacted us again for the remainder of your trip. The day before check-out, we sent you a message wishing you a "Hope you are enjoying your stay" and you never responded. We provided you with quick service, and we apologized for the situation you encountered.

Casa Big Sky is advertised as having ocean view, well, it doesn't have. It is advertised being a five minute walk from the beach, count for 10-15 It is located directly at the road, therefore noisy All the rest is perfect, interior design, equipment of the kitchen, very clean and very friendly local staff
