Josephine’s place in town- downtown Jim Thorpe

This victorian style home is located at the heart of Jim Thorpe, neighboring the Asa Packer Mansion and the Harry Packer Mansion. Only half a block from the town train station which offers scenic rides in between the mountains. The apartment has a direct view of the surrounding mountains and the Lehigh river and is located at the entrance of the switchback Trail. It has plenty of parking space and direct access to this beautiful trail leading to the Mauch Chunk Lake Park.

We just returned from our stay. We found the home to be Very clean and very well equipped. The beds are super comfortable and our son really enjoyed the third floor. We felt moved by zjosephine's story as we are also bereaved parents. Thank you for allowing us to have a much needed family powwow that included our beloved pets.The only thing I would advise is to be aware that although the house is located very close to town, the walk is steep.

Overall we had a great stay . The location was 5 minute walk to downtown , but you have to climb a pretty steep hill . There was a back yard but the fence was broken so we couldn’t let our dog out without her being on leash . There are lots of beds and they were all very comfortable but they the bathrooms were pretty small and suite in the attic had no bathroom door for privacy. But overall the house was very clean , and great location and Patricia was very easy to communicate with and accommodating with any requests we had .

What was really amazing was when you stand on the back porch and looked down over the town of Jim Thorpe covered with snow. The house was in a great location to everything. Love the old woodwork in the house. I would definitely stay there again.

The stay was awesome! Only small thing was the sixth bedroom was conjoined to the king bedroom. Didn’t end up being a problem because we were all close enough for it to not be awkward, but just wanted to put that in here. Truly don’t let that deter you from choosing this stay! Patricia, the host, was very responsive when contacted.The location is prime, very close to main strip in town, but just far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. If going to town, just be aware of the huge hill, walking down was no problem, but the walk up was killer. The house was very clean, plenty of space for all of us that stayed there. Plenty of towels and bedding for everything.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The property and the house are very beautiful with lots of thoughtful amenities. The location is wonderful and in easy walking distance to downtown as long as you’re okay with walking up/down the hill which was no problem for us! Would absolutely stay here again.
