Vacation at one of the most iconic properties in Delaware - the former home of Dolle's Candyland!
Newly renovated in 2021, you can now rent the 2nd floor apartment in the former Dolle's Candyland building located at 1 Rehoboth Avenue. This amazing location features a fully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, non-smoking apartment complete with full kitchen, living and dining areas, sitting directly atop the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, footsteps away from the beach, boutique shopping and unparalleled dining. The apartment features a second living room area with pull-out sofa which can be made private. Including this sleeper sofa, the apartment sleeps a total of 8. **Please note, this property is located on the second flood and requires stairs to gain access to the apartment. There is no elevator available.**
Location: This apartment puts you in the very heart of Rehoboth Beach. Sitting at the end of Rehoboth Avenue on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, the apartment provides direct access to the beach (no tags required!) and neighboring staples such as Dolle's Candyland, Grotto Pizza, Thrasher's Fries and Kohr Brothers Ice Cream. Not in the mood to cook in your full kitchen? You have numerous dining options within a block of the hotel, such as Blackwall Hitch, Back Porch Cafe, Go Brit, Cafe Azafran and Nalu to name a few.
Amenities: The apartment's kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher (pods included), glassware, a Keurig and 12-cup coffee maker (coffee not included, filters not needed), toaster and cutlery settings. The kitchen also offers: one ceramic platter, a tea kettle, glass measuring cup, bamboo and silicone serving utensils, hand mixer, ice cube trays, colander, grater, can opener, pizza cutter, tongs, whisks, peeler, wine/bottle opener, scissors and cutting boards. Dish detergent and sponges are also provided.
The living areas feature ample seating and 65" and 55" Smart TVs featuring YouTube TV (85 channels included), and access to use your own account for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and other subscription services. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the unit.
The unit also features a full-size washer (detergent included), dryer, iron, ironing board and hair dryer.
Bedding and Bath: There are 3 private bedrooms in the apartment. There are two bedrooms featuring two Twin beds which have a shared bath, and one bedroom featuring a Queen bed with a private bath. The apartment features an additional semi-private living room space offering a full size sleeper sofa. This room can be closed off using the sliding barn doors. Please note, bedding and bath linens ARE NOT included in your rental price but delivery can be facilitated for you - $12.00 per Queen/Full sheet set; $10.00 per Twin sheet set; $8.50 per towel set including a bath towel, hand towel and washcloth. Prices are based per rental, not by day or week. Please let your host know if you will need this additional service - the cost can be added to the rental after the booking is created, up to 3 days prior to arrival.
Other Important Information: 1. Two parking spots are included with your rental. Parking is located off of Baltimore Avenue in a construction lot in between the Lifesaving Station and the Admiral Hotel. 2. The apartment is 100% non-smoking. There is a $500 fine for violating this policy. 3. There is only one entrance/exit to the apartment, which is located off Rehoboth Avenue. Apartment access is located in an alley directly off Rehoboth Avenue. There are a total of 18 steps to climb (including landings) in order to reach the apartment. 4. Bed linens and towels ARE NOT included as part of your rental. These may be rented through your host (Chris) or through Grand Rental Station (302.227.RENT). Linens are delivered by 4pm the day of arrival, and must be placed outside the unit for pickup by 8:30am on the day of departure. Linen rental damage waiver (10%), tax (2%) and $30 delivery charge are additional. 5. There is a loading zone directly outside the alley entrance to the apartment. You may use this space temporarily to unload your belongings into the apartment. 6. Please note, the Dolle's sign atop the building was removed on December 15th, 2021.

We had a great stay! The property is very clean which we appreciated. The host was accommodating when we said we will arrive early; we were able to check in right away. Parking was easy enough and we were able to unload in front of the property. You couldn't ask for a nicer view! Items that could use a little attention - The shower in the bathroom could use fixing. It leaked on the bottom and therefore the water pressure was not great. Also, the mirror could be changed. Hard to see yourself in it. This was in the hall bathroom. In the Master bedroom there is nowhere to hang clothes or store clothes. The bathrooms could use a hook on the back of the doors to hang towels. There is a towel rack in the Master bathroom, but only one towel fits on. It is a tastefully decorated and spacious property. The Welcome Bag was also appreciated after a long drive. Thank you for sharing your property. We had a great time!

Outstanding location and really nice accommodation. My family enjoyed our stay immensely. So nice to be able to walk to the ocean in 5 minutes and great view of the boardwalk and ocean. Planning on booking again.

We had a great stay. The condo is lovely. Very nicely decorated and equipped. As others have noted, the location is superb. Everyone was able to walk everywhere. It’s one of our top favorite places, and we would stay again.
My friends and I loved staying at this property. The location is amazing, making it a very walkable trip. The property was clean. Chris was very attentive and easy to reach. We would recommend this space to anyone.
We took advantage of a much needed getaway to Rehoboth and could not have chosen a better location! We enjoyed the comfortable ambiance of the condo and amazing oceanviews. Chris was an excellent host who thought of everything to make our visit pleasant.
This property is perfect, especially if your looking for a place right on the beach with everything in walking distance. Waking up to the sunrise was an extra special touch. The property manager was also very helpful throughout my entire stay. I’d highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

This rental was everything that we wanted - spacious, clean, close to the beach, convenient to restaurants and shops, with all the amenities of home! Chris, the property manager, was friendly and responsive to our needs, though we didn’t need him once we arrived, as everything was as explained and in working order. We can’t wait to return next year!

This location was home to Dolle's Candyland for nearly 100 years, and has served as a selfie backdrop and picture perfect postcard subject for generations. After a complete renovation of the 2nd floor - the former taffy room - the building now houses a beautiful, well-appointed 3 bedroom apartment complete with two full bathrooms, flexible living areas and full kitchen, all just footsteps from the boardwalk and beach.
What makes this property unique
Dolle's Candyland, which opened in 1926, founded by Rudolph Dolle and Thomas Pachides, moved to this iconic Boardwalk spot at Rehoboth Ave in 1927, becoming a beloved landmark known for saltwater taffy, fudge, and caramel corn, surviving major events like the Great Depression and World War II. After decades of success and rebuilding after the 1962 storm (which brought the famous sign), the business moved a short distance in 2021 a few doors down Rehoboth Avenue. The iconic Dolle's sign found a new home at the Rehoboth Beach Museum following its removal in 2021.
