Clean place. Feels very homely when you’re inside the cabin. There’s good views of mountains. Host provides many essentials and enough amenities to feel relaxed and enjoyable. Host had good communication. Check in was super easy. Would stay there again if I come back to the Clayton, OK area.
We were there for a wedding in Talihina, and this place fit the bill. Our married children and grandkids were all able to stay together and it was a very nice time. The house was spacious and perfect for our needs
We loved the house, didn't get to spend much time in the actual house due to activities but it's beautiful, super cozy, decorated really cute and right off the highway which was super nice! You definitely have space to breathe and check out the beautiful stars at night.
We needed a place for our large family for our son’s wedding. This place was perfect and thd host was so responsive. I highly recommend if you need a place in this area.
Plenty of room for everybody. It is a really nice house. The host was very easy to communicate with. Even called me the week we were going because we had a snow storm. He wanted to make sure we were going to be able to make it. We will hopefully be renting again for family events in the area.
This was the perfect location for our weekend motorcycle ride through the Talimena scenic byway along with other outstanding roads in the OK/AR vicinity. The house was clean and well stocked. The instructions David supplied were perfect. No issues locating the place or accessing any local amenities. Thanks David for hosting us!
Everything was incredible. Absolutely no complaints. Already planning next trip with David. He could not have made it easier. And the property was gorgeous.
Thanks David
This place was awesome felt like home spacious and clean, family friendly close to town wonderful area with amazing views. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Clayton
everything in the cabin was great, rooms where spacious and the master bedroom is really big with its own bathroom. the cabin has everything you need to be at a home away from home, clean towels. dishes, spices everything to cook. it is very cozy with a chimney and modern living room furniture and a big dining table so all family can enjoy meals. the back yard is really big and it's really quiet, the deck is really nice also for a stary night. The only thing that was kind of a draw back is that the area has really bad cell service and the internet service to the cabin is slow to keep up with too many devices hooked to the wifi, but it's a getaway the surrounding area compensates for the missing technology. We visited the Winding stair mountains about an hour dive. That place is breath taking. My family will definitely stay again.
My family, friend, and I came to the area for a get away weekend. We easily found the property with the address given by the host. The house was extremely clean and the owners have done a great job with renovating/decorating the home. Plenty of room for all of us. Our only complaint (and I hate to complain because the host and home were so nice, but folks need to know) was that the beds are really hard and uncomfortable. Bring an egg crate with you and your stay will be great. We would definitely come back with some type of mattress pad. Beautiful property.
The cabin was perfect, clean, well maintained, roomy, comfortable, spacious backyard and front yard. Easy access right off the main road, and so close from the lake. Beautiful surroundings. David was so nice, helpful and responsive too, he was very welcoming!
Great place very nice modern farmhouse interior.New appliances. Everything in great shape. The beds were absolutely amazing high-quality linens and bathrooms were very relaxing. Much enjoyed.

About the host

We travel a lot. And we've been using VRBO for years. This part of Oklahoma is a hidden gem - just beautiful rugged country in the classic eastern (of the Great Divide) sense. We’ve been restoring properties here for 5 years now. We had 2 main goals at the start: Help the local economy & showcase SE Oklahoma. Our ranch is nearby and we're committed to helping others discover this fantastic escape so surprisingly close to Dallas or Tulsa or OK City.
Why they chose this property
This was an abandoned house that looked nothing like it does today. Floor plan was choppy and closed off. No flow whatsoever. We could tell it was well-built at its core and we thought it was worth saving. Now it;s an open floor plan with big rooms and flows beautifully.
