This 105 year old property once owned by the Swasey Family over a century ago has been completely renovated and is ready for your next Southport vacation! This home boasts classic sophistication with tasteful touches of modern trends creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that matches the vibe in Southport! Each detail with its own inspiration, you'll find something new and breathtaking during each visit. The brick front steps that lead onto the covered front porch widen as if to say come on in and stay awhile. Inside the Captain's Watch foyer greets you with a soaring ceiling filled with soft natural light finished with shiplap accents.

Fabulous cottage!!

The Blue Dog Cottage was absolutely amazing! Loved how it was decorated, how comfortable all the furniture and beds were, how convenient it was to walk to lots of restaurants and shops, and that it was equipped with everything we needed. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to the South Port area!!!

Adorable house in the heart of Southport.Everything is in walking distance from the house.Very peaceful and quiet area and everyone is extremely friendly.We enjoyed our stay and our morning coffee on the porch.I highly recommend The Blue Dog cottage for your next stay in Southport.

This property was absolutely AMAZING! The layout of the house was great! Kitchen was fully equipped! The back yard was adorable, unfortunately, it was so hot we couldn’t enjoy it. The patio would be perfect for cooler temperatures. This house has so much character! We just couldn’t believe all the little details! We would definitely choose this house again!

Great spot in downtown Southport

We had a great time at the Blue Dog Cottage. It was beautifully appointed, very clean, and very comfortable. The size is great along with the bedrooms and bathrooms, all wonderful accommodations. The only thing that was a problem was the bedrooms are very bright at night because there is a park right next to this property and lots of lights are on all night. While all the furnishings are beautiful, this house NEEDS room darkening blinds on all the bedroom windows. It was very hard for all of us to sleep with only sheer curtains on the windows. The location was great, nice to be close to the water and the ferry, and all the restaurants and shopping. We had a nice time exploring.

Greatly decorated!

Greatly decorated! The vacuum was stinking and we could not use it. the broom was inadequate also. the cleaners have obviously not done the floors for a long time. there was nothing as far as cleaning supplies around so we had to purchase our own. the dresser in the second bedroon was falling off the wall. a big hazard to children!!! the backyard also was a mess. I understand we had a storm but they did no clean up what so ever.

I have never complimented the interior of a home more in my life. I grew up in Southport and fell in love with this house over the weekend. My bridesmaids and I stayed there for my wedding weekend and we loved it. My now husband and I will definitely be back just to have a getaway from home at home. So spacious and beautiful. Relaxing family vacation

We had a wonderful time at The Blue Dog Cottage. It was a beautiful home with all the amenities you need for a stay at the beach. Close to downtown and the pier. It was only blocks from our family living there so we were able to visit often. Would definitely book here again.

Breathtaking!

The house is exquisite with every amenity we could have desired! The beds are comfy, the house gave our adult son the space to work remotely, and the fenced yard was perfect for our dogs. This was our first visit to Southport and it felt like home! We walked everywhere and yet it’s a quick drive to the beautiful beaches on Oak Island. Thank you for this lovely treasure!

Outstanding Visit

Words cannot begin to describe my fantastic experience at Southport. The Fred Douglas Moore house had pretty much every accommodation one might want and/or need. The house is beautiful and very spacious. Can definitely host a big family comfortably and it's situated only at short distance from Oak Island (15 minutes driving) and only 45 minutes away from Wilmington. I look forward toward visiting Southport again and stay at this gorgeous house; every year if possible for as long as it's available. It is that good. Thank you Southport Realty.
