Welcome to Casa de PennyWentzell! Our recently remodeled 5 bedroom, 2.5 bath single family home in the highly desired Gold Coast is just 3 short blocks to the beach with Ocean views from the upstairs sunroom. The property's upgraded amenities include brand new state of the art appliances, new kitchens and bath, smart tv's, stand alone outdoor shower and even a backyard sitting area with firepit which is extremely rare for Ocean City. This unit has a secondary kitchenette upstairs with a second living room and a total of 9 beds. Room for 2 families, and even three if configured correctly. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and do their own thing. Off street parking for 2 cars and close to all tourist attractions. Beach passes, beach chairs, and a beach cart are included with each rental and 2 new Margaritaville cruiser bikes can be included for an additional fee. Fire up the grill out back, and work out with ocean views in the upstairs sunroom in the morning. This place has something for everyone! Great Shore Family Vacation

The house was great for our multi-generation family reunion in Ocean City. It was a good match for my extended family - kids through adults. It is nicely renovated and functional. We loved the proximity to the end of the boardwalk allowing easy access without all the noise and crowding. Walk to beach is easy too. We all liked the outdoor shower, which makes up for the fact there are only two in the house. Adam was easy to communicate with and replied promptly. Overall: excellent. ⭐️🏖️⭐️

A great "Shore" experience

We are 7 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 9 year old and 2 3 1/2 year olds - the house worked well for us which is not always easy but it is close quarters for 12 people. We were delighted to find the kitchen very well outfitted with dishes, silverware, cooking pans and even saran wrap, aluminum foil and leftover storage i.e. plastic containers & ziploc bags. We've gotten into the habit of bringing all that stuff because many of the homes we've rented don't provide it and since we do cook dinners as a family, there's always leftovers. The beach cart and chairs provided were so helpful, the location made it easy to get to the beach, the boardwalk and ordinary stores like CVS or ShopRite for groceries. I'd say only there were two things that were a bit disappointing - I'm not sure anything could be done about either one - one is the upstairs sunroom having no air conditioning - it was a great place to get away and relax and it had the view but you could only tolerate it if the temperatures were reasonable. Secondly, the firepit area was pretty small in reality - we managed to do s'mores in shifts which was okay. Overall, neither of these issues impacted the stay - the place worked very nicely.

Beautiful house with close walk to beach

The house was exactly as pictured and had a very spacious, open living area with great size bedrooms. The house was very clean and nicely kept. The beach was only a few blocks away. Great for families and friends!

Very nice stay

We have rented from several rental service including VRBO in the past. The property description and location were not concise enough for this stay. We had hoped that the retail area of the boardwalk was closer than described. We have always been provided with basic staples such as sheets, beach towels, toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry detergent in the past. Upon arriving sheets and beach towels and other amenities above were not there. The host was extremely accommodating and provided us with sheets and beach towels and we very much appreciated it. I even left some very expensive medication and both hosts reached out for me to pick it up or make arrangements. They were a pleasure to deal with.

About the host

The Pennypacker's and the Wentzell's whom are best friends purchased this property in 2020 to use as their home away from home. We have been friends for 20 years and our kids are the same age. Mr. Pennypacker has a background as a contractor and has experience in home renovation. The property was remodeled to be more open and inviting with a sightline to the ocean. Our four small children love the area and this particular section of beach, and spending time together enjoying fun in the sun!

Why they chose this property

This property is more spacious than the 4 bed and 2 bath units on the island renting at a higher premium, and the additional space outside for games and the off street parking make it a diamond in the rough. Being on the corner and having the stoplight makes crossing the street safer for the kids, and we are just two blocks from the boardwalk if you want to go for a run or bike ride. If you enjoy golf, a quick round at the 3 par course behind us is just steps away!

What makes this property unique

5 bedrooms is tough to find without renting a luxury unit, and one of the master bedrooms on the first floor has a small half bath. Two kitchenettes and living rooms provide space for everyone and the downstairs fridge makes ice balls for your favorite drink on the rocks! 2 car off street parking without needing to navigate a back alley is also something you won't find often.
