Walk to Beach Luxury 5BR/3BA Villa Hollywood Lakes

I wish that you would have communicated with us during your stay about the difficulty of figuring out how to walk to the beach. We thought that based on the description of the property and the picture showing the walking path to Beach via Hollywood Blvd bridge, it would be self-explanatory. We have maintenance available throughout the day to answer any questions or address any issues, and they could have easily assisted you. Ray’s family rented our property from Apr 3 - 16. On April 12, there was a flood in Hollywood Florida affecting a large area, and a state of emergency was declared by the Florida Government. The house where Ray and his family were staying was affected by this flood but mainly because the area was flooded not the house itself as it stands on the higher ground. The sewer system was partially blocked as 2 out of 3 bathrooms in the house were fully operational and there was less than 1 inch of water in one out of 5 bedrooms. But Ray asked for help to reallocate his children and grandchildren as they had friends in Boca Raton and wanted to continue their stay there. On April 13, our maintenance crew helped to evacuate Ray’s family, his children, and grandchildren by driving trucks in the 2 feet deep water through some streets in order to reach the house and move them to Boca. Ray and his wife decided to stay in the house until the evening of Apr 15. As their stay ended, Ray requested a refund for 4 days claiming the family couldn’t stay in the house when in fact he and his wife stayed to the very end. As a courtesy, we have fully refunded Ray 3 days of stay or $2721 even though per our policy and VRBO rules we didn’t have to provide any refund due to the natural disaster that happened in the area. After he argued to be refunded for another day, we had to explain to Ray that the decision is final and the refund is provided at our discretion. Ray agreed to refund asking us “kindly send the refund.” But after the refund was sent, and despite all of the help and assistance provided to Ray and his family he decided to post a very negative, untruthful, and unfair review in complete contradiction with the 14 reviews that the guests who stayed prior provided. Just to add, the house was closed for 10 days after this family left until Apr 25th to remediate the issues after the flood replacing sheetrock where it was required, drying, and ventilating the house. Also, the deck was fully replaced during this time as it was the only fair point in Ray’s review, and repairs were scheduled to be done at the first possible window.
