About this property
Spacious Egleston Sq 2 Bedroom (Dog Friendly)
With a flexible layout that's great for families or small groups, this spacious 2 bd apartment is a short drive into Boston proper and walking distance to many local shops, restaurants, and "emerald necklace" parks in the Jamaica Plain/Roxbury area. On the second level of a 3-family victorian house, the property offers a shared yard and front porch, in addition to a private balcony off of the kitchen.
The master suite comes with a separate bathroom, double bed, desk, kitchenette, and a pullout love seat that sleeps 1 adult or 2 kids. The 2nd bedroom can be set up either with a king or with 2 twin beds. In addition, a queen-size air mattress can be set up in the living room if your group wants to spread out.
Each bedroom has a TV capable of streaming, a desk, and a window AC unit (there will not be AC in the living room, kitchen or bathroom). One parking spot in the shared driveway will be available for your stay and street parking is free and somewhat easy to find if you have more than one vehicle. There is a washer and dryer supplied with detergent for your use, and a balcony off of the kitchen with aderondak chairs. The shared front yard can be used during your stay, but dogs must be on a leash at all times and cleaned up after.
Neighborhood description:
Egleston Square straddles Jamaica Plain and Roxbury, both vibrant, diverse, residential neighborhoods in the city of Boston. There are lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance, as well as the Sam Adams brewery. Our residential street is just off Washington, which will take you directly into the city. We’re a 5 minute walk from Franklin Park, the largest park in Boston and great for runs or dog walks. We’re closest to the part where the old zoo used to be (the active zoo is a 10 minute walk further) and there are abandoned bear enclosures from 1905 that are cool to explore.
I want to remind all that you will be in a city that has diverse residents, people of color, and people of various backgrounds, so please be mindful of this and conduct yourself as such. If you equate a diverse neighborhood to an unsafe one, this is not the property for you.
Getting around:
The apartment is a 10-12 minute walk to the orange line, and one minute from various bus lines which will take to you the orange line station. Depending on traffic, it’s a 15-25 minute drive or Uber/Lyft into the center of Boston and 10-30 minutes to the airport. If you’re going into the city by public transport, plan for 30 minutes total travel time (10 minutes walk to the station, 5 minutes waiting for a train, 15 minutes on the train).
