We loved staying at your place! The accommodations were as listed and a good time was had by all. We appreciated being able to rent the pontoon for a day to check out the lake.
What an amazing location on Big Shag Lake. Sarah was an amazing host. The house had everything one would need when traveling to a destination like this. The house is on a cove of the lake which is beyond beautiful and peaceful. Anyone going to the UP would be remiss not staying at Sarah’s house.

We appreciate your kind words as your family were great guests! Our property does have a peaceful way about it and lots to offer. I’m glad you found it suitable for your family. We hope to see you again in the future!
Sarah’s house on Shag Lake is simply beautiful and has all the amenities you could need. The kitchen is well stocked, and there are recreational toys for all - pontoon boat, canoes and kayaks, Bon fire pit & blankets, etc. The beds were very comfortable as well. Thanks for a great stay!

It was a pleasure having you stay with us for your special occasion! We are happy you had an amazing week. Thank you for staying with us!
We spent a week here and used it as a launch point to explore Marquette, Munising, and all the UP has to offer. In between we enjoyed the lake and outdoor set-up of the property. The kids all caught big fish and loved the kayaks, paddle boards and floaters that came with the rental!

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! You were great guests and left the house pristine. Your welcome to come back again in the future!
Our extended family of 10 (6 adults, 4 kiddos aged 5 and under) had a wonderful stay. It is well stocked with household amenities and outdoor adventure gear. Our kiddos caught many fish from the dock. Sarah was communicative and kind. The lake is a nice size without being too busy. Bedroom sizes were great and beds were comfy. The open layout of the kitchen/dining/living was wonderful for being together as a family with ample space. Highly recommend!
This house had everything we needed and more for a trip with friends and with 6 kids under 6! The kids loved playing in the shed and all the lake toys. Having the lake bottom cleaned of weeds near the dock was so nice. We also loved the large patio area. Inside the rooms and bathrooms were a great size and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and bake. We could have stayed and played at the house all day everyday! But the location was perfect to do day trips to Marquette, Pictured Rocks and Munising. Would definitely stay again and will be recommending this property to anyone considering a UP trip!
First time getting our gang together for a family trip and it was all we hoped for. The house is well maintained and spacious enough for everyone. It is on a small bay that was ideal for the kids to fish and paddle board and be in sight. Not one complaint of being bored and a lot less time spent on their devices!! Our evenings were spent enjoying a fire and conversation on the patio. Great vacation!

I’m glad your expectations were met! The kids do love the fishing area and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint! Thank you for coming to our house and spending time with your family. Come again anytime!
This property is amazing. It is not only beautiful, it has everything you would need for a stay in vacation. Our family used it for six nights to be able to stay all together for a lake retreat vacation (my husband and I, son and daughter-in-law, and daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren). The place is stocked with everything you would need….kitchen supplies, games, water toys, etc. It is large enough to be together but offers very large bedrooms for privacy. We are already looking for dates for next year. I would highly recommend this property.
The place was great. Had everthing we needed plus some. All the water toys you would need. The patio was awesome. The lake was quiet and great for fishing. My 12 year old twins and 4 uear old were occupied the entire time. Nice place to swim. Loved taking the boat out for deep swimming. House was a great size for 8 people. Sarah was great, answered all our questions, was attentive and accommodating. We would definitely book again.
We loved our stay on Big Shag Lake! The house was beautiful. Plenty of room for our five kids. We enjoyed the paddle boat, kayaks and stand up paddle board. We played endless games of corn hole. The teens were glad to have a piano- they were able to practice songs for an upcoming event. We grilled out and make s’mores. Easy communication with the hosts. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. 😃

Thank you so much for such a nice review. We enjoyed having you! Come again any time!
The house was even better than the pictures, it was incredibly clean, well laid out, and had everything we needed, they thought of everything! It was well stocked so we could bake, grill, play on the water, and in the large yard. One of our favorite things was hanging-out by the beautiful fire pit and gazing at the stars. It was also only a 30 min drive to Marquette.
Sarah was very kind, provided very clear details on check-in and check-out, and was prompt to reply to any questions we had during our stay. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! Thanks for sharing this slice of heaven with us!

Thank you for the kind words! We enjoyed having you and letting us be apart of your vacation! Come again anytime!
This house was perfect in every way. Spacious, clean, beautiful and hosted by 2 wonderful, helpful, kind people. We came to Gwinn for a family wedding, and several family members stopped by throughout our visit. They loved it as well. The front patio was so spacious we usually gathered out there (weather permitting). The view of the lake was beautiful as well, and renting the pontoon allowed us to take fishing, swimming or just sight seeing cruises around the lake. Grandkids enjoyed fishing off the dock as well. We had an amazing time, and would definitely rent again if we are ever in the area.
Everything about this property was exactly as described or above expectation. Sarah was a wonderful host, and it felt like we were just part of the family. There were so many thoughtful touches from separate beach towels and fire pit blankets to an abundance of fresh, fluffy bath towels. Everything was perfectly clean, and the kitchen had every single thing that we needed to eat in almost every meal. While we enjoyed a lot of the local attractions, we all loved staying in and relaxing on the lake most of all. Sarah was prompt in responding to any and all questions, so we couldn't more highly recommend this property. Thank you, Sarah and family for sharing your little piece of heaven!
We stayed 5 nights at this home on Big Shag Lake. We were on a 3 week trip around Michigan with our 2015-16 German exchange student and his parents. Our stay here was magnificent. The guys enjoyed the fishing. They caught and released bass, sunfish, and northern pike. We all used the canoe and kayaks several times. Big Shag Lake connects to Michell Lake, so there's lots to explore on the water and cool birds like bald eagles, kingfishers, and great blue herons. Most of the windows overlook the lake or woods. It feels very private. The home was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and serve food. There are several sets of dishes. All the appliances worked well. The home is situated about 30 minutes from Marquette and about 1 hour from Munising, so there was plenty to keep us busy, and there were some excellent restaurants. If you enjoy beer, check out By George Brewing in Munising. We also enjoyed the Vierling, Donckers, and Babycakes in Marquette. We highly recommend this home and would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

We are so happy you had an amazing time. We loved hosting you on part of your 3 week adventure. You left the house spotless and wrote a lovely note we will treasure. Thank you for choosing us and come again!
Wonderful wedding weekend with friends and family. This home made a special occasion even more special by allowing a beautiful location for our daughters and her bridal party a special place to get ready. It also provided us the space for our two families to celebrate our newlyweds the days before and after the wedding. The property owner was available when needed and was very welcoming. The home was clean and comfortable. It was a weekend none of us will ever forget!
Property was private and quiet. It was my first time staying in a VRBO and the instructions were very clear and helpful. Pleasantly surprised to find extras such as water toys the kids could use. Rooms were clean and well stocked. Even with it being a little hard to find the owner did a great job sending us detailed instructions and pictures how to find the place. And we wanted somewhere private so that was to be expected. The lake was warm and clean and we kayaked and swam and had a great time!
Beautifully appointed home in a lovely setting. Sarah was a wonderful host and the whole family enjoyed the stay. The gourmet kitchen was perfect for creating family meals. Thanks a million for a great time.
