Spacious cabin with great amenities and reasonable rates. We very much enjoyed our stay! Poor cell service in the whole region but the owners did the best they could to get the best reception possible.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Our 4 kids loved swimming and fishing in the lake and they loved playing in their upstairs room! Communication with the owner was great.
Thank you again for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful property. The cabin was perfect for our family of 6, everyone had a great time and you can’t beat the view and the true up North experience!
Love having a place to relax with space to move about. Beautiful views of the quite beautiful lake and just a quick drive to Marquette. The girls had a blast in the lake.
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. Well stocked kitchen, toys for the kids, canoe and boat for the lake. We caught over 20 pan fish from dock. Grandchildren really enjoyed it. Lots of beds for everyone. Great location to take day trips from. Highly recommended!!
Family accomodations while attending daughters graduation from NMU
Great family accomodations for our 7 overnight family members and 2 to 3 daytime
guests. The lakeside cabin is beautifully set with a great view of lake. Cabin very well supplied. We also enjoyed row boating ( there was canoe also) and fishing out on the lake and campfire around the nice firepit area outside. Owner were very accomodating and promptly responded to any questions we had.
Thank you to the hosts. The house was a home away from home, while we were up north for a famy funeral. The house was so clean that the floors and counters were still wet when we arrived. The wifi and huge TV let us watch the State and U of M game.
This was a great vacation. The layout of the cabin was very spacious. The outdoor HOT shower was a great addition for after a swim in the cold lake. Lots of great outdoor activities in the area. We will absolutely bookmark this listing for possible future stays.
My only recommendation if you go is toarrive during the day as it was a little difficult to locate in the dark. locate
This property was great for our family of 8 including our adult children. We enjoyed the access to the water, the yard and how cozy the property was. The kitchen was spacious, and the beds were super comfy. We were also close to both Marquette and Munising which have alot to offer for outdoor fun. Some of the property was recently renovated, and it shows. No hesitation to come back.
We had the BEST week with our family! The house could not have been more perfect. We fit the 5 of us and our 2 dogs with room to spare. The lake is so quiet and was clean with a sandy bottom - not mucky at all. The little screened in porch was a favorite place for all of us, as well as the hammock, to just relax. The location is perfect to take day trips to various locations (waterfalls, hiking paths, etc.) Thank you! We will be back!
This was a comfortable cabin for our family. The only thing it did not have as advertised was an ATV. Everyone loved the lake and the boats. The door on the main bathroom was very hard to close ; tight. Wi-Fi and cell service was difficult. I would benefit by an extra step from both entrances. Too high for elderly and small kids. All considered, we had a very good stay.
I booked the house for the Marji Gesick mountain bike race. I had five friends travel with me as a support crew. The house was excellent for our needs. Plenty of beds and 1.5 bathrooms. A well stocked and large kitchen and plenty of living space. Outdoors was a nice grill, screened in house on the lake and a canoe. I caught a pike right off the dock Friday! There was even a garage to store our bikes in overnight. It was a little challenging to find at first but not a big deal. Greqt place for fishing amd central to Marquette and Ishpeming!
The cottage and lake were just as it was pictured! It was beautiful. The only downside was that the weather was not very cooperative. We had two beautiful days and then 3 days of rain. But even with the rain the stay was delightful. The cottage was so cozy and it was so relaxing sitting on the sofa with the fire going. The views from the kitchen and family room are lovely and the beds were comfortable. Our dogs loved swimming in the lake. We couldn't figure out how to work the outdoor shower but there was a hose that was available. Luckily we were able to use the outdoor fire pit two nights in a row. We definitely would book again and are seriously considering it.

Review at our stay 7.6-15.6.2023
We had 10 people staying from Finland. Nice cottages by the lake. 2 bedrooms at downstairs were good and common space great. Rest of the beds are in second floor, was not said in the description. They were little worse. 1 beb was broken. Would need some draws where to put cloths. There was nothing. We had also a cold weather which affected to use of the lake. The rainy day dropped water inside top of the roof. Grill was not useable and the outside table needed some cover so it could be useable. Wifi was working really poorly. Was not so good for our family trip. Our expectations and needs were not totally covered in this place.
This was our second time staying here and once again this location was perfect for us. Fished the lake and caught some nice fish, and had a blast doing it. Well mannered Pets are allowed for an additional fee.
Large kitchen was a ton of fun as we prepared our meals, and also used the outside grill.
As we learned last year “Do bring additional TP & paper towels” as there isn’t much, and we also brought our own towels.
Right by the lake there is a full screened in cabana that has a propane fire table to warm up a cool summer evening.
We are planning on returning next year.
The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils; just needs another big frying pan. Liked the extra spices and oils for cooking. Thanks…. Didn’t try the grill. Wished the paddle boat was there to use. We had a great time…. Quiet, just what was needed. Plus, I love the water to play in…. We came from California
Cottage is in a great location. Lake is beautiful and good for younger kids. Fishing kept kids happy. Perfect for families looking to relax and enjoy time together.
Perfect location. Easy access to the lake which was very clean. We caught lots of fish (especially in the evening. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and the beds were comfortable
Our family group of 5 adults and 3 children had a wonderful relaxing week at Little Lake (actually Farmers Lake, I believe!). Bridget was very responsive to questions we had before the stay and also to some minor issues we had when we arrived. Excellent communication and responsiveness!
The property is not high end luxury which fits our family style well but provided all we needed--including spotty internet which meant more time with the grandchildren who struggled with their devices!! We loved that! Kitchen is spacious and has almost all the things needed for meal preparation! Kitchen also has windows facing the lake for gorgeous views as one is preparing dinner, etc.. We definitely recommend Little Lake as a comfortable family retreat. Sandy beach is also a bonus!!
Overall the house was nicer than the photos, with lots of kitchen counter space. We enjoyed our stay!

I grew up in Waterloo, Iowa, and came to Marquette to attend NMU in the 1980's. I bought this cottage to come home to every summer and have loved all of my time here. With 5 children, 2 grown and 3 still at home, we are now ready to share our beautiful cabin with you!
Why they chose this property
You will come to the lake and realize that everything you need is here. Brown's Store is just a mile away for any necessities (beer, bait, and a great meat counter) while Gwinn is just a few short miles with a full grocery store, bait shop, and a few small stores. Marquette is just 25 miles away and is close enough that you can come and go daily if you choose.
