Visit with friends

Casa Verde is great for large families or group of friends. The bedrooms are spread out on several floors and the kitchen is well equipped to make family meals. Our teens enjoyed using the ping pong table. Be aware that there is a very steep driveway that isn't mentioned in the description. There isn't much room in the driveway and there was an extra car parked at the house that made it difficult to turn your car around. We were hoping to make use of the garage with the Tesla charger that was mentioned in the description, but the garage was full of extra furniture and not able to be accessed.

Horrible condition

After flying from out of state with 10 family members, when we entered the house at around 10:30 pm, we were extremely disappointed. All the bedrooms were messed up, no toilet tissues in any of the restrooms, unfinished foods everywhere on the countertop of the kitchen, washer and drier are defective (leaks water). Tried to contact the host, but no response. Contacted Vrbo and they tried to contact with host with no response. The house was not livable, therefore we left the house same night and stayed in the hotel. Horrible experience and inconvenience by renting this home. Would not recommend this house to anyone.

The contact person/ property manager never answers his phone- I tried calling him atleast 5 times and his voicemail box was always full so leaving a message was not an option. I sent a text message to the number listed and got a response shortly after but never answered my question. The house was nice and clean and met our needs. Plenty of space for us. We were all complaining that it was too warm in the house and we would try to lower the temperature but it felt like the homeowner had it locked in 72. The drive way is steep!

It was just okay

Overall, this house was fine for our needs. We had enough room for 10 people (adults and kids) to stay comfortably. The inside of the house was clean when we arrived. The beds were comfortable. Over the course of our stay we found that basic necessities were missing: garbage bags, paper towels, washcloths for the bathrooms. The host was receptive when I messaged about the amenities listed that were in non-working order: a rusted gas grill, and the rusted out fire pit (he ordered new ones during our stay and had them set up by his handyman). There were 4 garbage and recycling cans at the end of the driveway the day we arrived and none had been picked up in probably weeks - all were very full and smelly. The driveway IS very steep, but we knew that ahead of time after reading some reviews. The house itself is 10 minutes away from the VanDorn metro station, making it convenient to get into the city. However, I would not choose to stay here again and would advise anyone who does book this property to message the host ahead of time to ensure all the items you need for a comfortable stay are available to you.

Bad experience

Although checking in was easy and they were willing to allow early check in, when we arrived there were no paper towels, no garbage bags, and most importantly no sheets or pillow cases on any of the beds. Also the washer and dryer doesn’t work. Also it was pretty dirty. After contacting the manager, he had the cleaners come back with sheets and supplies before the end of the day, so that was fine. But then we realized that one of the toilets were clogged when someone took a dump and it wouldn’t flush. That was nasty. We contacted the manager again and he said he’d have someone come check it out while we were gone, but when we came back at night no one had come. Then he never answered again. Then after our trip I contacted the manager again hoping to get credit for all my issues, but he never even answered. Not even reply. So okay fine. I’ll right an honest review then. I would give a 1 star but since he addressed the bed sheets on the first day I decided to go 2 star. All in all, I would never book here again. It’s dirty and not well kept. And the clogged toilet issue was just disgustingw and should have been addressed asap.

Great place for family to stay

We (4 adults, 4 kids) stayed at this property over the Thanksgiving holiday as we have family that recently moved to the Arlington area and they wanted to host. It was a great home base for us - a short train ride into DC and close to everything we needed. The house was clean, spacious, perfect for the kids (with a ping-pong table on the lower level). Communication with Chase was great and everyone had a great time.
